TOUR DATES - KEYS AND STRINGS LIVE SHOWS 2010 Fresh from the release of his new album REMEMBER JUNE and album shows in Sydney and Melbourne, Damien Leith will be touring Queensland with four shows announced for February 2010. Damien will perform traditional Irish classics and contemporary hits as well as stand out tracks from REMEMBER JUNE.
Accompanied by the violin, guitar and piano Keys and Strings will showcase Damien’s striking vocals and audiences will discover why Damien is one of Australia's favourite live performers.
True to his Celtic roots, the shows will see Damien perform a collection of Irish songs, many of which influenced his critically acclaimed REMEMBER JUNE, taking audiences on a journey from his musical past to present. From the folk tunes of the Dubliners and Christy Moore, to the smash hits of U2, the legendary tunes of Van Morisson and Damien Rice to the Operatic sounds of John McCormack, audiences will be treated to a musical fusion showcasing Damien’s development as a performer since he first landed on the Australian music scene in 2006 when won the 4th season of Australian Idol.
Of his upcoming shows Damien said "My Irish background is incredibly important to me and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to take this show to the stage."
Since REMEMBER JUNE debuted in Australia audiences and critics alike have been mesmerised by Damien’s pop-rock tracks and new found sound, comparative to the likes of U2, Keane, Roy Oribson and Coldplay.

I don't even know some of those artists that Damien is going to be covering?
I wonder how many songs from RJ we will get to hear? I just want to hear so many from RJ that this is a worry if there are so many covers going to sung.

It seems like this set of shows is a sort of blend of Damien's songs with a progress through the eras of some well known Irish music to establish a context?
Seeing John McCormack included in the list initially took me by huge surprise for Damien but thinking about it more he was one of the first really BIG Irish names in music so maybe the idea is to start at a point and move toward the present? McCormack had a magnificent operatic yet also popular songs voice. I'm not sure which one of his Damien would have in mind but it's an intriguing idea if done in Damien's way.

Thanks Shims for your positive spin on it. I am just a bit shocked still to see so many unfamiliar covers possbily being done. not to mention very old covers at that!
RJ is by far the BEST ever album right through and has been promoted as 'Rocky' and 'Different'! The thought of this not being predominately an RJ concert is disappointing to say the least. But I can also understand why it possibly isn't!
