Firstly congrats Damien on getting through yet again ;D Now down to next week ... what order does everyone think the two songs should be sung in? I am thinking that he should go with "Crying" first and then finish off with Hallelujah I am sure both will be fantastic ... well if Damien is singing them they have to be I believe Hallelujah to be the more contempory song and it would be best to finish with something that the young ones are familiar with.

I dont think its confirmed, but I know they are the 2 overwhelming favourites of us 'online' fans.
Please, if there is a higher power that loves me, let it be these 2 songs....please!!

Well lets just say that im sure hardly anyone would want to see him sing James Blunt unless they wanted him to suffer (im sorry he sucks majorly) and the other song i cant remember right now but these two songs were the best and i really hope that we get our wishes!

I'm not sure about you young'uns, but I know the adult Australian voting public can be a bit thick at times... Evidence? The Howard government......

The other song was 'Never Tear Us Apart' by INXS, I think...? In any case, I'm pretty sure we'll get the two we want. If I remember, voting ends tonight so we'll know pretty soon.
I think he should do 'Crying' last, actually. It's a real "big finish" song with some strong notes, and would leave a more striking impression I think. Although the fact that more people are likely to know 'Hallelujah' because of all the covers done and everything, that's a good point too.
I think the ideal order will all depend on how Damien chooses to arrange and perform them, which I can't wait to see.

Ok it can either go two ways if Crying and Hallelujah are done: Option 1: Crying first Hallelujah second. Reasons - Crying is powerful people will be drawn to it and show people what D is made of, Hallelujah is popular through all the covers over the years and of course from Shrek and other movies so it will end on a very positive note and get people voting... Option 2: Hallelujah first Crying second. Reasons - Hallelujah is a popular song as I said before and it can draw people into D young and old and make them want to stick around to see what else he is singing once he has nailed this one. Crying second because it is a really strong song and Roy fans will love it as will others.... Either way the show is garenteed to go of like a frog in a sock!! *haha stole that from Shannon *

Well that sure was too close for comfort, but with only 5 left its enevitable our favourites will be in the bottom 3 now. Thankyou Lord for saving Damo, & to all the Damienites frantic voting, god I just love this man, oh, I have said this before, this could be the 1,000th time, teeeheeee. I was real sad to see Ricky go he was my 2nd fav, I knew Dean would be saved, as we have discussed on many occassion this is not a talent show but a popularity contest, which is such a shame, I wish Ricky all the best, but I will be sad every week now, cos except for Dean I like them all (who are left) sorry Dean fans but nothing personal he just doesnt cut the mustard vocally in my opinion.
Well done again Damo, it sure seemed weird seeing him up there didnt it

I'm not sure, for people in my age group (30s) and older "Crying" is by far the more better known song and that operatic crescendo at the end will blow the audience to pieces. So I think it will make a BIG ending. Meanwhile Hallelujah is a song which I think will showcase the pure elegance to Damien's upper register in it's delicate moments. So maybe that one first, then Crying for the big emotional finish. IMO

In my dreamworld:
Crying first. No instruments, just stand and deliver. Beautiful dark suit, dark button-down shirt, open at neck with no tie. Complete focus on the vocal, stun the crap out of the audience with big feeling, range and power. This is more your typical "Idol" number, big notes the folks love, technically difficult. But D can bring the emotional edge to it - I think he is the only Top 4 performer that could convey the pain of this song. The studio will be screaming for more....
Then complete change to Hallelujah. With guitar, casual look. Simple, simple arrangement. I want to see what he did at the Seymour Centre that made people cry, stand and applaud. Make it small and humble, a showcase the delicacy and heartbreaking quality of D's voice. Imagine it - an audience dead silent, hanging on every word..... almost the opposite of Crying, but possibly more powerful.
Yes, that is my dream-world. I should add that in this world I also have smaller hips, bigger tits and can play the cello. ;D
I just know that D will do something fantastic with these 2 songs (please let it be these 2 songs!), and I cant wait till Sunday!
Oh, btw, any k.d. Lang fans out there? She has covered Crying and Hallelujah too - and her versions are stunning. Crying is slightly 'country-fied' and quite slow, but when she lets that voice go...amazing! And her Hallelujah is sublime (though I also like Jeff Buckleys).

Not to sure how Damien will re-arrange Hallelujah. Jeff Buckley's versions like 7 minutes long. Hope he doesn't change it too much. What I love about that song so much, is the first minute or so, where the guitar intro slowly gains momentum. Really looking forward to it.

Very, very difficult to choose the order. I don't think it really matters in the grand scheme of things, BUT, here are my thoughts. I think the order of singers has some impact on which order the songs should go. If D goes first (hopefully not again), I think that Crying is the song that most people would expect him to sing (high notes, etc) and so let's get them in with that. I did vote for that song for sentimental reasons and I personally can't wait to hear his version. I think singing Hallelujah second would leave a lasting impression on people's mind and leave them wanting MORE,MORE, MORE. As it's a more recent song ( Think OC) for the younger fans I think this would be the perfect finale for D to stake his claim for the OH. However, no matter which order he sings them, all I can think is TOUCHDOWN for both. I can't wait!!! I can't imagine him not melting me with both of them. Cheers, Lozza

don't know any official word yet emmylou.
winterlong, we seem to have a similar music collection ;D I've heard both kd lang versions (the Crying version I own is a duet with her and Roy Orbison) and that would be my fav arrangement.
