That's incredible Spuddy! Well done!! Mysterri thanks so much for all your help! I've looked through my hard drive folder and tried to find the cache but not much luck. I'm using a Mac & the directories aren't quite the same. I found a folder called "Cache" in my Firefox folder, but it's all unopenable files and they only go back to yesterday If anyone knows how to open a Firefox cache in a Mac could they please give me some hints as maybe I might still have something if I can find any older files? I do however have good news on one front! I HAVE THE VALENTINES MESSAGE!!! Right back to when I was a mod I have saved most special messages forum posts "just in case" we lost anything, and I was sure I had saved this one too but haven't been able to find it!!!! Found it tonight though!!! It's not html, but I've got it!! Mods just let me know where to send it to you and I'll send you the jpg! I thought I had Angela's book post kept safely too but still looking to find it. Does anyone know what date it was posted, that will help as I'm looking by date.

wow thats fantastic Shims, so glad we got the Valentines Message back At the moment, mysterri is sorting through all the stuff from spud, so if you want to send it to me, I'll do my best to get it back up, or you can repost it yourself? ;D

Shims that's wonderful news! Thanks for looking Womby, it was worth a try. Spud I'm OK with the files right now but please don't delete any of them from your computer just yet. I'm sorting all of the html files into separate folders and then I'll correlate the messages into date order so that there is some continuity. I think it best at this stage if I post them so that there isn't any confusion.

I don't know the actual date but working on Houndsy posting the book the day of the lunch 1st Feb- taking a week to get there 8th Feb then I think it was almost a week after that that Angela posted....so about 15th? Actually Houndsy would probably have more of an idea as she received a personal thankyou first .

Nuffy your Firefox Cache exists in the following path. C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Cache put the cursor in the URL box and type about:cache or about:cache?device=disk The page shows a list of URLs in the cache. Click on an underlined URL and another page will open with more information about that one file. If you want to view the image from the cache 1. Put Firefox into off-line mode File -> Work Offline 2. Then click the link on this second page. Hope this helps. Bad news. I tried but can't find an Application Data...cache file for Firefox. And although I did find lots of DLO pages on Internet Explorer, they only dated up to 2007. Thanks for the advice though Mysterri - but I don't think I was close. We may have changed somethings when our computer crashed end of last year. If anyone's got suggestions to help me find the Firefox cache, please post here. I'm sure it'll be full of stuff cause our IE cache capacity that's reserved is massive!

Sorry I couldn't help you any further Nuffy. Try doing a Google search, you may just find the answer. There are many on line forums etc. that are dedicated to this type of thing with people only too willing to help. Some good news. I've compiled all of the html files (over 100) into folders for the threads they're related to and I've just posted page 2 of the Happy Valentine's Day thread. It's fantastic that Shimmery had saved the original Valentine's Day message from Damien and at least we have retrieved some of the replies to him. Hopefully we'll be able to locate page 1 of the thread soon.
