Good interview! Get Well Soon Jarvis! Best wishes to Eillen, who must be run off her feet dealing with Idol and looking after a sick baby! Good Damien can spend time with both of them (I assume he didn't get much more sleep last night)

Jarvis has a cold. He's still not getting enough sleep. Loved seeing a bit of the filming of the video. Good to see Damien with a guitar in it. Bet he insisted on it. Can hardly wait for the DVD.

What a lovely interview. Loved the little snippet of the video clip they showed too! Looking forward to seeing that some time soon...
Nice to hear Karl (it was Karl wasn't it - I didn't actually pay much attention to that side of things!) talk about Damien being on the show for years to come. Yes, he is going to be around for that long! And it was nice to clear up just how long Damien has been in Australia and what the rules for entering Idol were, and great that Damien got a chance to point out that Idol isn't the easy road to the top that people claim it is.
And hopefully poor Jarvis is better soon. But it's great that Damien seems to have had some time with his family in between all his other commitments!

I just finished watching the interview. Damien did great, as usual! One of the things I like about him, he is an articulate guy who can interviews so well! And he radiates such warmth! I'm usually critical of Dicky Wilkins, but I'll give him credit for treating Damien with courtesy and respect, unlike those jerks on the Hot 30 last night. Well done, Mr Leith!

I think Sunrise is next Friday (is that the one with the guy in the glasses and the woman with longer blond hair?). He's starting to look a bit tired now, but still gorgeous. Too bad Jarvis has a cold and was awake all night. I'm sure that's the last thing he needed! Also nice to see that Eileen is going to be a big part of the whole process. I'm getting sick of people asking if he thinks Idol is a fast-track to superstardom. What do people think more than 10 years of sending in demos and doing gigs counts for? For some idols it may be a fast track, but it's clearly not for Damien. I think he's a great indication that the record companies often get their talent searches (and rejections) wrong. Imagine all those other talented people out there who have been slogging it out for years and are constantly rejected by a small handful of music execs. *packs up soap box and moves to next corner*

These guys are professionals, not like those tossers on the Top 30. It was nice that he got a chance to answer the big questions and address his critics. And I love it when TV hosts tell him what a lovely guy he is on air! ;D

That is one big demographic on the Nine Network.

How many times have you heard that an actor or singer has been an "overnight success" when they've actually been in the industry for years with no recognition, all because they didn't have the right "look" or some other nonsense. Remember, Kyle said no at the audition, so how close did he come again to not making it?

Thank you. Brilliant. we don't get channel 9 out here. Someone commented before about how many appearances Damien is doing. I was thinking last night how lucky we were that Damien won Idol. You don't hear dickie boo about Jess. I feel sorry for her loyal fans. That could have been us. Needing to know how he was and hanging out to hear his music and to see him.
