This is fun! I will be back in a moment after a think, but wanted to say oh wow GJ I have also thought of "Sweet Sweet Love" by Russell Morris for Damien - I just got the CD of his best of and have been belting them out in the car, particularly that one  Roxy "Never Tear Us Apart" is another great one, I loved hearing Damien sing it on radio that time SJ totally agree also with "Lover, You Should've Come Over" - Genevieve Little did a great version of that the night of the Jeff Buckley tribute in Sydney in May, and more proof of how many Jeff Buckley songs would suit Damien |

OMG I thought that was so out there its fab though, I have been listening to his Restrospective album....its a great version of SSL, hope D has a listen he probably hasn't heard of him. I think the words to the song suit D as well....... This is fun! Russell Morris's "The Real Thing" original 60s version would easily make it into my all time Top 10 songs, I love it as an all-round production. But then when considering the purity of melody and the idea of a man standing with his guitar singing a brilliant song - I would choose "Sweet Sweet Love" for Damien It has such a sense of joy in it which I think Damien's songs also share. |

OMG............ heaven ) I Know We Could Be So Happy Baby (If We Wanted to Be) - Jeff Buckley (I love how this starts soft and low then ends up in such a cry from the heart in the chorus - Matt Anderson did a sensational version of this live at the Jeff Buckley night and it was another I thought would be great for Damien - though I could probably list 10 more Jeff Buckley songs I would love to hear him sing) and since we're all cheating   - my cheat one is "One" by U2 - Damien did this as a group song in Idol and nailed it, it's one of my all time fav songs. ok and well - I think there has to be an Orbison song, so if Crying wasn't there, I would have "She's a Mystery to Me" - and oh well, look at that!! - we get Bono bundled in with that one as well  , so that can't be a bad thing of course, Damien could also sing U2/Buckley/Orbison songs non-stop and I would be happy anyway, so it's hard for me to narrow them down lol - this is way too hard  I've left off a lot of the ones from both tours that I loved (eg Message to My Girl) and have so many sub-clauses to the original list that I've destroyed the point of narrowing it down, but anyway... lol, there's my list....

OMG i would love to hear D sing Apologize, I'm obsessed with that song. There's a few Mika ones that would be good. I agree with Grace Kelly and Happy Ending. I also think Relax would be a good one. |
