Oh also wanted to say I met Mark up in the foyer doing the signings and he was lovely! Very friendly and sweet. I bought his EP and he signed it for me and I said I'd been front row the first night and he said oh thanks so much for all the support! I also said "Crazy" was back in the audience tonight and he said if he'd known he'd have mentioned her again I din't know til I got there that Crazy was going to the show too, (with last minute tickets) that was a great surprise!

I'll talk about backstage in our Member's Area with the other stories from other nights - but there was no backstage tonight - just a quick say hello downstairs, Damien was in a hurry to leave tonight. It was short but very sweet!

okay that out of the way. I won't go into point to point detail tonight. my poor back is playing up something rotten at the mo' and i need to lay on a hard floor. anyway i've tried really hard to remember everything Damien said on stage, like all you guys can do - but i have a mummy brain (in other words - the memory of a goldfish I can see DD has been on - so wardrobe comments our out. Shimmery told Mark Wilkinson I was there, but when i went up to meet him the queue for his autograph was so long, i just bought his CD and legged it back to my seat just before the lights went down. the response in the audience to him was excellent. the peeps i was sharing a booth with were pretty rude about him when he got on the stage (what, he's not Damien, do we have to wait to see Damien ), but after the first song they sat to attention and by the end they were lining up for the CD. Just before the show i got to meet the infamous Popeye. where did i get the idea that popeye was the quiet type? she's a real blast. ;D Damien did not do Celebration, but he did refer to it all the time as well as how great a dancer he is not. he said how well his irish jig was accepted last night (why didn't he do it again then?). Damien was much much more relaxed than Thursday - the Damienites in the front row obviously made him nervous. however he did comment about how on Thursday he had been asked to remove his shirt. He said that in preparation for this night he had done a couple of extra bench presses (or was it push ups), and his pants were designed so that he could just grab them and whip them off. (unfortunately he did not demonstrate) Anyway he did plenty of fancy foot work on stage. He sang Beautiful, but not Song for Jarvis (i love both but i can so relate to SforJ). He did Come to Me and Sky. He sang High & Dry and commenting on his Idol experience "some Radiohead fans didn't feel i should have sung the song like that. that Thom Yorke would be turning in his grave - well i know he's okay about it, after all he isn't dead" - bwah what a comedian I took the songs and audience in so much more tonight. Hallelujah (as i've said before many times, a really really important song for me) totally had me spellbound tonight, well that was until the coupl next to me started talking to each other how can anyone talk through any of Damiens performances - especially Hallelujah. The woman next to me was so upset when Damien walked off before singing Nessun Dorma ( but i knew it was the encore) the whole show was so well received by - sunshine take note - a very mixed demographic. 50/50 male female, children and elderly and baby boomers. i'd say though that the demographic most widly represented was the 30-50 yr olds of both genders. Afte the show I found shimmery and we powdered our noses (with shims compact) and phoned Dede for backstage directions. "don't go backstage, come downstairs to the trams, Damiens getting in a car" more of that in the members area Then Popeye & friend, Dede, Shimmery & BF and I went up to the new Hut. Dede had a coke, Shimmery had champagne & I had a schooner of Hahn Ice (the barman was only going to give me a schooner of ice - must've thought i was underage)

I am so tempted to go tomorrow just to see Mark again But there are no tickets left so that's been decided for me. I'm sure he'll do something else though. I'll just pathetically pine for him until I see him again. LOL

LOL at all of Damien's little comments! I'm glad you were able to take something else from the show tonight that you couldn't/didn't take on Thursday. Thanks for the report - I'll check the member's area soon.. okay that out of the way. Oh and yes Damien was in a very banter-y(?) mood tonight, he was so relaxed and really having a lot of fun. Like Crazy said he made lots of jokes about Celebration but decided not to sing it, as well as joking how another audience this week wanted him to get his clothes off and he swore there's nothing we'd want to see, he was saying lots of funny little lines and the crowd loved it.
I love how Damien dances around the stage, he reminds me so much of Neil Finn at those times. the music was just fantastic tonight, but Damien outshines everyone, he really is worth seeing every ticket you have the chance to buy. He also said he'd be playing Star City again soon for the next tour! So glad he said that, I much prefer this venue to other Sydney venues - and we have the HUT firmly established there too now ;D

Winter, we were saying tonight how though we're sad our concerts are over now at Swoon City, we're going to really be looking forward to watching everyone's reports each night on the forum for the rest of the tour!

Oh yes, and also - when the lights went down and the "shimmery lights" (like in my new siggie) came on - all the audience tonight went "oooooooooooh" - as in a real gasp - they were enchanted. I don't remember it getting such a reaction the other nights. Crazy & I both said to each other later how Hallelujah carried us both away with it tonight - Damien was in his world and the audience was mesmerised.
