Wow...would LOVE to take the kids to this but...$50 / ticket? Venue is not far either ... Kids would so love to see D "in person" but don't think I can do this...much as I love them (kids and D...lol!)
Dilemas, dilemas....

Hi
Just thought I'd let you know I rang the club today, and this is definitely an all ages gig.

Is it just me or are the ticket prices quite high?

Is it just me or are the ticket prices quite high? No, I agree...I think the prices are quite high too...though its quite interesting to see that it doesnt seem to be deterring sales too much...or at least I hope not I hope D is seeing a reasonable percentage of the intake..it makes paying it not so painful! That being said, I would probably pay even more for the opportunity to see him live...and to see him perform the songs from TWJ. I remember watching some of those performances on Idol wishing I was audience...I now I kind of can be! I'm also thinking that once this tour and WJ album are done, there wont be so much of these songs performed anymore...he'd be wanting to push himself as as a singer/ songwriter, and not as an Idol covers artist.

No, the sales seem to be good alright - it just seems like $50-$80 is an awful lot for a guy who is just starting out. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bagging Damien, but someone is taking advantage quite nicely out of all this. Geez, some of the overseas bands that play the Enmore haven't been charging this much!
Incidentally, I saw Damo singing at a function a week ago and he's still sounding as good as ever. Still just as friendly to chat to, too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bagging Damien, but someone is taking advantage quite nicely out of all this. Its okay...I think we can be a little critical of prices, I'm sure D doesnt set them! Its interesting when you say someone is taking advantage...certainly, seeing how astoundingly well the album has sold, it could be Sony after some more money... but perhaps it is the venues themselves out for a bit of cash? Think about it - the tour seems to be have been organised reasonably quickly on the heels of the stellar sales....and I would imagine that the price of a venue goes up the sooner and more urgently you need it? Meh, I dont know - those are just my random speculations Good to hear D remains a quality act - both to listen and chat too

The album has sold very well, and so there's a certain premium you can attach to prices for that, and you're probably right about the speed of the tour being put together - wonder if that means anything for the national tour later?
I just think a lot of Idol fans will shy away from that sort of price whereas lower prices would have allowed them to come along out of curiosity.
Or maybe I just don't earn enough money these days and everyone else pays that sort of money without thinking twice?!

Is it just me or are the ticket prices quite high? I don't really think the prices are high...that's what you pay at Swoon City anyway...

LOL! Just rang CHPRSL to check timings for tommorrow and this is the message on their phone when you're on hold.
"Calling last year's Australian Idol a "competition" would be a misnomer, considering it was obvious from the start that Damien Leith had it in the bag. With his smooth voice, Irish lilt and charismatic personality, it's no wonder he captured the heart of Australia"

General air of expectation abounds in our house...kids are counting down to 1 o'clock already. Hope today is brilliant...and kids last the distance...
****Will post wardrobe report AS SOON AS I GET HOME! *** (unless someone beats me to it...will have to drop my Mum home first...)
