What a night. Was just fantastic. If he performs the same way for the rest of the shows, then you are all in for a treat.
This concert certainly wasn't rushed, and he seemed really relaxed, which made his voice sound even better, if that is even possible!!
We took our seats ready for Live Room, Wow, the stage was close, but not quite as close as Swoon City. I was really impressed with the support Act, Live Room, and got into their music. Loved that the lead guy (can't remember his name) was in bare feet!
The lighting for the show was spectacular and it just added to the whole atmosphere. Damien looked really relaxed and in the zone when he came out. He just soaks it all up, and made the concert feel really intimate. Sometimes I had to turn around to remind myself that there were 700 odd people sitting behind me, as It felt like I was the only one in the room with him!!

I love Damien's, jokes and storytelling, he is so funny. He was talking about Idol, and making reference to Mark Holden and how mean he was with his remarks about him being ugly
of course the place just erupted with "No you're not" he then said that just before that comment was made by Mark, he had been out the back *pacing and feeling nervous* and was in the bathroom looking at himself in the mirror pulling faces at himself (moving his jaw around and stuff)!! and he screwed up his face in the mirror and said he thought he looked like one of the Smurfs!!
can't remember which one it was now, but we all laughed, as he said it really topped it off when Mark said he WAS ugly! Alot of "your'e not ugly" was yelled out!
He then started talking about a song he sang on Idol...........we all yelled out (very loudly) CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! everyone laughed even harder, as it sounded like we were calling him a creep on top of it all!!. he said....awww now you have given the surprise away...we just woooped wooooped so loudly!! and it was just devine! he sung the version that he sang to Eileen on their wedding day. It was just him and his guitar, gobsmackingly gorgeous. Hope the rest of you get to hear it!
We did a touchdown after Crying, but Im not sure if he saw that, and we threw our roses (which were white with a green tinge) after Creep! We were planning to throw them after Shine Like the Sun, but we weren't sure if he was going to sing it. We wanted to throw them after one of his original songs, not a cover song.
Just before Damien sang Dannyboy, he dedicated the song to the lady in the Audience, who was the one that he sent the recording to and hence ended up on the Album. That was just lovely to think she was in the audience with us all. After the show I think she went back stage with Damien for a private moment with her family. What a wonderful thing for him to do.
Just before he sung, I still Miss Us, he said that that song was written because of his Sister's breakup! He made a joke that her heartbreak resulted in this song being written, which was all good for him!!
I just didn't want the show to end, and his two encore songs were Hallelujah (couldn't hear a pin drop)
and Night of my Life. He really had the audience going with NOML, and spent alot of time with the audience getting everyone to sing bits of it. At the end, as he was about to leave, and came up to the front of the stage and put his hand out, we all stood there and did the soft slap as he walked along the stage! ;D
His voice was in fine form and was crystal clear all night, he sounded divine! God I want to go to more concerts now!! It's very sad when you realise it is all over! But we have our memories and they are all good! ;D
