Damien's on now. Was talking to Laurie Lawrence (Olympic swimming coach). He may be co-hosting it this morning. The dj didn't sat goodbye to him yet (i think) !

Damien was on for at least an hour - DH called me in before 8am to tell me he was on and that we'd been missing it. and he's just said goodbye (that's Damien, not DH - DH said goodbye ages ago :

DH said that when he switched on a listener was complaining that she missed the concerts because there wasn't enough advertising and Damien said a lot of people had complained about not knowing about the tour

He also did an acoustic version of the new Xmas song, but i was being interrupted by children at the time

Did you hear the earlier part?, Crazy I just caught the tail end of an interview with the Olympic swimming coach Laurie Lawrence where they talked about teaching toddlers to swim from Jagger's age. Very interesting. But I don't know how long he was on before that. It sounded like he was on for quite a while.

The station's Vega. Today the host is Jason Stavely while Ange, Mickey, the guy who did The Fat(?) and another girl who usually host, are on holidays.
I wish we get early notice about these things!

He sounded good tho. Very bright and chirpy

it was actually annoying me nuffy (that there was no notice and it was dragged out like it was) because i didn't have time to sit around today - i guess it's lucky i wasn't driving to work or i would've been when i'd got to the car park.

i missed the beginning so i don't know when this started, but it was quick snippets with Damien interrupted by news, songs, reports ads etc. it'll probably all come back to me later.

they were talking about Rudd and asked D if he voted and he said he had to do his first ever Oz vote 2 dys early because of the tours and they asked how he felt seeing that Howard had made him a citizen etc. which got me all because i hate musicians being asked their political point of view and i really don't want to know Damien's politics - but he dodged the bullet by saying it was all good, he reckoned 11 years was a good innings for anyone and it was probably time for someone else to take the job

there was the swimming thing, the singing thing - he said that he decided they needed to write a new Xmas song as no one is doing that anymore and he sat down with Eils and wrote it.

he said he is going back to Ireland for Xmas to see all the new babies in the family that have been born.

i think that's about it ... and the TV mentions

I'll give Jason a call and ask about a podcast or something. I doubt anyone has this on tape.
Thanks Crazy. At least we can look forward to the Spicks and Specks Christmas special. He mentioned they're taping that tomorrow.When talking about the new series Jason asked "How do you go with the walking & talking?"
Damien replied "It takes getting used to. But, it's mainly voice-overs except at the start."
When Jason summarised stuff Damien's done and was up to"... get the WWL album which has been repackaged with a bonus Christmas cd, or his book"
Damien jumps in with "Or, get them both for a fantastic Christmas present How's that for a sales pitch ".
OMG he's so honestly funny. ;D
So good to see he's getting over his inhibitions for selling his stuff.

I heard quite a bit of it. Damien came across well, and he had a couple of callers that I heard, both male, that were very enthusiastic about him, especially the one who had been to the concert at Revesby recently.

On his political views, Damien said "I think Kevin will do a really good job". Good lad.

I feel disappointed that I didn't know about this to be able to let you all know. I had spoken to Damien yesterday about an interview coming up on MIX 106.5 and he didn't mention this one. He WAS in ahurry to get home because Darren was leaving, but still.............. I would have loved to have heard this one.
