The version of Wicked Game that D did on Idol...it's still my "Damien's Most Everything Song". (Even though the quality is shite on the CD, it's awesome on the DVD....) *is suprised nobody else has mentioned this one yet...*

A2, Wicked Game gets mentioned a lot in the 'Damien's Idol Performances" section. The thread is 'Damien's Best Vocal Performance So Far' which was started 3 weeks earlier than this one. Sometimes there seem to be too many threads started that raise the same topics as earlier ones in a different section. It gets confusing sometimes.

in other words, I need to try to get with the program, eh Banana? he he. I thought this thread was Damien's most moving Songs... Have I missed something? *am scratching head a lot this morning!* BTW - haven't seen you for ages Bananarama - hope you're well!

Hallelujah has always moved me and Damien does it so much justice. Unchained Melody - he expresses the words "I need your love" so much better than anyone else has - and that turns my knees to jelly.
i get moved to so many of his song versions. at the moment it's Tomorrow Never Knows. I never really listened to the words before D - can you believe that?
waiting on an angel was one of my least favourites till yesterday. it was playing in the car and Maia asked if the song was about her. i listen to the words now and get all choked up - it put a new spin on it for me.

Message to my girl and waiting on an angel are the most moving ones for me.
And I agree, I would LOVE to hear a full length Hallelujah on the album - it would be absolutely divine, sublime, incredible....(continue listing superlatives here as you wish)

A number of these songs are moving to me, but the only one which can make me cry is "Waiting on an angel".
His version is better than the original IMHO (and wouldn't say that about all of D's AI versions, though he was always terrific, "Celebration" excepted).
What does the song mean ?
Is about someone yearning for a soul mate OR is it about death OR what?
I read somewhere that it has been played at funerals. Sorry to be morbid.
Also, D. said the song meant a lot to his family ie NOT just him. I wondered if he thought it was about death.
Anyways - I'll stop - I'm getting OT, and I'm aware that there is a thread devoted to WOAA on the next page!

Damien's most moving songs for me were... Unchained Melody- Seriously he sung this song so beautifully!, i get butterfiles every time i listen to it. One of my absolute fave performaces. Hallelujah- This is one of D's performances that made me cry!!. I was seriously crying like a baby LOL!. It just moved me so much, and his voice was just...unbeleiveable....to good for words. Crying- How could D's version not move you?, freakin amazing i tell ya!. And another performance that made me cry ;D . Waiting On An Angel- This song is magic!. i just freeze and block out everything and every sound when this song comes on . And Damien's Angelic voice just tops it off. Message To My Girl- AHHH!! im like this> every time Damien play the piano. This performance was also so beautiful!. Plus him stairing into that camera ( teh Damien stare ) was just divine If Tomorrow Never Comes- I'm the same as you crazy. I never really listened to the words of this song until D sang it. It just seems so clear for me when he sings it. And when i herd the words i was like AWWWW!!! . Nessun Dorma- Come on! i mean seriously. THIS IS LIKE MORE AMAZING THEN ANYTHING!!!!. I can never get enough of this song, jsut superb!!. Sky, Come to me, These days- D's Orginal songs are partically my favourites!. Because of course they are beautiful songs (duh) and i can relate to the lyrics, and i just love them!! cause there fantastic! Edit: i already did a list on the first page but i wanted to do it again and make some changes

Damien - had me from the first moment ---- I think his short but sweet performance of Blowers Daughter on Auditoning --- caught my eye, my ears, my heart......
Then his defence of himself --- In it i saw he was standing up for all those that are not perfect ------ and said its okay to be who you are, and people will like you even with some imperfections.

Ahhh the most moving to me are
Waiting on an Angel - because it's divine
Message to My Girl - because it had meaning to me originally, then Damien took it to another level again - which I never could have believed to have been possible until I heard him sing.
Nessun Dorma - because every time I hear him throw everything he's got into it at the end and almost exhaust himself doing it, I just think how at that moment he was trying to claim something in that final week for his family at home. It sounded like that to me when I first heard it and I still find it incredibly moving.
Sky - I'm coming back to add Sky because it really is a statement of self acceptance that is so rare in this world and so beautiful. I find that incredibly moving actually.

I agree about 'Tenterfield Saddler'. And, the national anthem finally sounded good to me when I saw Damien singing it. ;D
