Ah - this was again better than I had hoped! I love hearing the piano on the songs from Damien's myspace and wondered if it was him, now we know it is and doesn't he play beautifully! This was such a professional performance tonight, Damien had that confidence and EASE tonight that made it so totally enjoyable. I LOVED hearing how Sky sounds with the full band and backing vocals, this added another dimension to an already gorgeous song. Just when I think I've seen my favourite preformance of Damien's, he raises the standard again!! Beautiful tonight Damo! Totally loved it. Congratulatons

I had hoped after hearing this song on Myspace that there would be a piano, and my dreams were realised!
I knew I would love it, but I was amazed at how much I love it! Thats what I love about Damiens performances, he is always exceeding my very high expectations.
I think I would remove a limb to see him live ;D
Oh, and one thing that was so great with this performance was his eye contact with the camera/ audience. I've noticed this improve dramatically over the weeks, and tonight it was very powerful. I really felt as though the song was being performed to me (yes, I know, in my dreams!)

Wow Damien is getting better & better (if thats possible) how can u improve perfection, but he does, what a talented man, vocals, guitar & now piano, have to say Eileen you looked pretty hot 2 night, with the red hat etc. really suited u, i cud never wear anything like that. I am sooooo excited my 19 yr old neice has downloaded all Damo's songs for me on c.d. bless her heart, she will make me her slave now, she thinks her mum and I are SAD for being soooo obsessed with the whole idol thing but WE DONT CARE, teeheeeee. Also I must say a quick comment on Jess singing, that was an unexpected choice but wow did she nail it, the whole night, except for 2 performances, which shall remain nameless were outstanding tonight, of course damien is No. 1, as usual, I know, call me bias. Congrats again on an awesome performance

Are there words enough to describe how uplifting, poignant and glorious this was. I am with you Neski- Damien is very delectable esp behind that piano engrossed in his performance. To be honest, the song spoke volumes to me: it was so eloquent in its simplicity and catchiness and after the less than ordinary day I'd had my spirits were soaring after this. You know when something is so beautiful, it makes you a little teary? That's how Damien and his song left me. It just grabs you by the arm and reminds you that life in all its paradoxes is amazing and that there are so many possibilities and not to lose sight of who one is etc. Loved it, loved it loved it...and if there had been judges there that surely would've have been a "grand royale touchdown".

Michelle that is so lovely what you just wrote - you even brought a tear to my eye!
Eileen that's fantastic that Damo's (are we allowed to call him that too lol) mum and sister are arriving here to join in the Idol mayhem. I bet Damien will love having even more support on hand and you will too. I hope they enjoy their stay - please welcome them from moi.
Ohhh I'm getting so excited now - 6 contestants left - I can see that Sydney Opera House beckoning Damien. Isn't it exciting!!!!
Hugs, Belinda

Eileen that's fantastic that Damo's (are we allowed to call him that too lol) mum and sister are arriving here to join in the Idol mayhem. Oh I've been dying to ask that. I call him Damo in my head, but it always felt a bit ocker and familiar to type it. Is it a particularly Aussie thing that names cant be more than 2 syllables I wonder?
