Damien was interviewed on Sydney Radio Station 2UE - which goes national I believe on the Southern Cross radio network - by Mike Carlton and Peter Fitzsimmons.

"Damien said that the Aussie values test was more rigorous than he expected. He also mentioned how his mam cried when they left permanently. He did say that they're a very close family. The new baby was mentioned and the fact that the scan revealed that the baby was coming a month sooner than they expected. They also talked about his Honours degree in Chemistry and how his parents had insisted that they all have something to fall back on. He talked about how much trouble he had making money in the industry, etc. They were both very sympathetic interviewers, with Mike mentioning his Irish convict ancestors."

Thanks for posting the thread so quickly dede. I was listening to them and they said that a brand new Australian was coming up next. I thought , then no way, it can't be. Then, after the commercial, they started playing NOML. I started frantically PMing dede and braffy so I was only listening to parts with half an ear. It will be good to hear the whole interview properly tomorrow. BTW, the baby is due in May.

I heard the last few minutes of the interview on 2UE this morning, but unfortunately I missed most of it. Hopefully, the whole thing is soon posted on their site.
Mike & Fitz do an interesting, topical breakfast show. I'm pleased they were very professional with Damien, in comparison to those wankers on NOVA. And, it was great that they highlighted Damo's educational achievements, because as we all know, Damien Leith is one very smart man!
