btw, for those still tossing up whether to vote or not, can I just highlight this part from D: "I would love to win. I have to be honest. It would mean incredible things for my family. I was almost about to give up singing because with a young family I couldnt keep justifying spending a few grand here and there making demos no-one would buy....

Note to Mark: most of Damien's fans wouldn't notice if he got on the radio or not. It would be nice, but we don't need a radio show to remind us of great singers.
And why does Mark still care about Jess going in to an audition wearing thongs? Nobody else had a problem with that...

I find it difficult to know whether the judges are putting on an act or whether they really are 'touched'. Probably both? At least Marcia had a few lines of half-sense.

aww that's just lovely what he said about his family  He so deserves to win. It still feels like the idol machine is pushing for Jessica, but I think Marcia is right, there is a market for talent like Damien's. I'll certainly be following his career and buying his CDs long after idol is over. For me the idol hype has nothing to do with it.. it's that voice that is divine! And the fact that he is doing it for his family is just beautiful. I'm going to buy more phone credits on Wednesday!!  |

Mark's obsession with Dean is a little creepy  Nice to read what Damien had to say anyway. And being on the radio is good but not the most important thing. There's plenty of great artists that get ignored by radio stations  |

Yeah I agree about Mark's Dean obsession. It's pretty rude of him to say that Dean deserved to win because he's 'got it all'. While I think he is a very talented young man, he didn't have the vocal skills/ability that the final two do. It's a bit of a slap in the face for Damien & Jess for Mark to say that.

Mark is a typical ego-centric being, thinking that everything that happens is a result of something he has said or done. The world doesn't work like that Mark!!!! Also, I reckon he has a Dean obsession because he really does look a lot like Mark in the '70s and so Mark has an attachment to him for that reason. |
