Gj, it wasn't completely "official" so we couldn't say anything earlier but they had a fairly good idea all was going to be good And yes DC said this is sensational news for Damien and the fact he is the only aus Idol winner with back to back number 1's is such an amazing achievement.  I swear I had butterflies in my stomach yesterday because of the anticipation. I couldn't even eat...haha. Imagine what Damien was like Woooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Could not be happier! That is BRILLIANT NEWS! It's going to be announced on ROVE tonight too! Congratulations Damien. We could not be more thrilled for you and proud of YOU! Oh and a sidenote....DC told me this morning that Damien is the only Idol winner who has had back to back NUMBER 1 ALBUMS! How fantastic is that? This morning Carla, you devil |

Yeah, they usually know the day before but have to go through the official channels...etc. I am so happy too! Damien must be ecstatic! This is definitely a weight off! A #1 album... that leaves Damien's record deal and future career in a very solid position I'd say!  And even though chart position has nothing to do with quality, it should shut up some of the nasty critics too.  You know, I believe that it never hurts to pray about things, even if they're not such big things as world peace and whatnot, and a couple of weeks ago I... er, made a request upstairs that the people who like Damien and who would enjoy his album will find their way to it and buy it.  Even if it had nothing to do with the ultimate outcome, I'm glad it was answered. |

ahem*clears throat* Dear Vultures, Yes, you know who you are. All those who took glee in the chart position of the single, all those who said he needed the winner's hype to make any sales, all those who said he should stick to singing karaoke and not pursue his own music, and those who said that he wouldnt translate from Idol into a marketable or bankable artist. To all those who commented on various outlets how the album wouldnt sell, how it was too slow, not rock/pop enough, how it wasnt engaging.... To all the vultures, I say this: #1 BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Cheers, Winterlong  Oh.....so well said Winter!!!! #1 FUNTARSTIC! So looking forward to Rove tonight. |
