Damien should win cos his version of the winners single is about 1000 times better than Jess' version in my opinion....He just somehow made this song completely his own...his arrangement was pure brilliance. I want to see this single as a Damien Leith single...as far as I'm concerned he owns the song and if Jess' releases it, it just wouldn't seem right...to me it's Damien's song already....Have been listening on repeat over and over again and loving it more everytime I listen.

I agree, although I didin't mind Jessica's version that much. I think it's time to move away from the standard ballads that have been the winners single for the past few years. I think Damien did a really original version of the song and really made it his own. I look forward to buying it this time next week.

I agree ... I can't stop listening to it either  I definitely think though that sometime soon they should probably change the winners single as they all tend to sound the same or fairly similar.
Damiens version was brilliant!!! Way better than Jess I thought. I think that the way Jess does her songs, it's been done before and her voice is already so similar to artists already out there. Damien however, he's different, and unique and I really hope that he wins it as his version of "Night Of My Life" was way better than Jess's!!!

Yes... I might actually be motivated to listen to the radio with the chance of hearing Damien! I do feel guilty about taking the song away from Jess if she really does love it.  But I really think this song doesn't suit her, as hard as she worked to make it sound good. |

Yeah, I agree - I only heard that song once before Damien did it, but he hit a high note about 20 seconds in that almost left me comatose! I love the winner's single - as much as I liked Jess' version, it sounded exactly like every winner's song Idol's ever had. When Damien did it, and made it more acoustic with the guitars, it sounded so raw, not like the usual mushy-ballad stuff. It could've been a rewording of the 'Time of my Life' song from Dirty Dancing with a title like that, but to the credit of both performers, it sounded great, and Damien's version was beautiful - I saw Eileen standing up while he was singing! It was heavenly!! |

Frankly, I was gruntling when I heard her sing this song - I was lamenting the crappiness of the song and how awful it must be for Damien to sing that song. Well he proved me wrong! But yeah... winner's single aside, I think Damien has been the more consistent performer out of the two. He makes love songs sincere and hertfelt, while others make them cheesy. Damien is magic. |

Yeah you're right - it might be a matter of experience though, considering Damien has so much love in his life with his family, but Jess' boyfriend is kind of on again/off again
