Hya Fellow Damienites, yes I agree with everything said, I too was going to be happy if he made it into the Final 2, Final 3 even, but yes, we couldnt simply not vote our hearts out now, only one more time to see the look on our hubbies faces when the bill comes in. We have to give him every chance, on saying that, I would still be happy for little Jess, shes lovely & awesome voice, but Damo winning would be icing on the cake.
I really cant see Damien doing anything he doesnt agree with or want to do, being more mature and doing his own thing all these years, it would be hard, I think the powers to be realise that they wouldnt be able to mould him to their ideas, so Im confident we will get an album that will be the true Damien Leith or at least 1/2.
On saying that, I would dearly love for some of his Idol songs to be on his first album, eg: Creep, Crying, Halleluyah (cant spell that, teehee) and a few others, especially that magnificent Nossum thingey.
Heres waiting for anticipation for Sunday night, its tortue waiting isnt it !!. DAMIEN LEITH FOR WORLD DOMINATION

There was a thing on the 11:30 news on channel 10 last night where Damien said he was putting his own spin on his song and it would be different to the normal Idol structure (or something like that anyway). Can't wait to hear it!

Damien... All that we can ask of you is to do your best. Anything else would be unrealistic. Please remember that we all HOPE for you to win and will be voting for you every waking hour, however, none of us expect you to win. We will all be disappointed if you don't win, however, we are grateful for the music you have provided us with over the past few months. We all know that you have a career ahead of you. You seem to be such a compassionate, mesmerising person and Jarvis and Eileen are lucky to have you in their life. Thankyou. We are voting for you and do our best to get you over the final hurdle!!!! THANKYOU

I just got an idea. Is anyone actually going to to the opera house? If so maybe the person can give Damien a little card from all of us. Just a little token to show our support for him.

Yeah, I'd love to do it if I could too.... well, we'll have to find someone to do it. It'd be a lovely moment to show that we're all supporting him. Would we be able to get it to him though on the night? It gets pretty crazy there...

I think it would be pretty impossible to meet Damien at the Opera House as I think you need to have tickets for the Opera House forecourt as well as for inside (from what I can gather). I haven't heard of any public appearances, the motor show was the last (?)...
I know for a major event a couple of months ago they shut down the whole forecourt area so you probably can't just rock up.
But we could all make one beautiful thread of messages here for the big night and send a message to Damien with the direct link so he gets it for sure.

I'm just jumping in to add my congratulations. I've been a fan of Damien's from the moment he was told he was ugly at the auditions (so wrong), and it's been amazing watching him on his journey ever since. 4 touchdowns, 2 in one night, and a one off night singing "Celebration" that STILL sounded flawless despite the amount of jumping around that was involved. Such a joy, such a trooper, such a star. Good luck Damien, you talented bastard!

*waves* Hi ozbrat! I couldn't agree more with everything you said. I think we're backing the winner here!
Hmm... maybe we could send a thread of well-wishes before, and make up a card to give him some time after the Grand Final? Whether he wins or comes second he deserves a big congratulations.

Perhaps we could send something to the Idol house, or to Eileen? *whispers so Eileen won't hear* a bunch of flowers, or a pressie for Jarvis perhaps? Or we could just send some sort of digital card. Perhaps we could create a collage of sigs or something?

Best case scenario would be to send a bottle of champagne, since Damien himself said he wanted one and only got a bottle of shampoo from the Backstage Idol host!

It could actually be sent to the Opera House...via stage door.
They take deliveries for opera and theatre stars there all the time....they usually get delivered to the dressing room (though maybe there will be more security on than a usual show..?)
