I went for my bike ride early this morning (family still asleep) and I was humming/singing Come To Me & Sky to myself...and I found myself in tears! Was a bit affected by the general beauty of nature around me & the quietness at that time of the morning. Interesting how music brings up all kinds of STUFF for you , isn't it? D's music is so soulful...can push all kinds of buttons I guess.

Well, I'm a bit of a closet sap and a lot of music makes me cry... but Damien, yes! Especially when I'm feeling in a reflective mood or troubled about something, playing Damien's songs will really bring the emotions to the surface. Especially if I'm watching a video of him - he has a kind of heartfelt charisma that translates very well visually.

I've "welled-up" quite a few times listening to Damien and without fail get goosebumps every time he sings.
However, when he first sang Nessun Dorma I was just totally overwhelmed by his performance and tears flowed freely and spontaneously. From the moment it was revealed that he was going to attempt Nessun Dorma I was quietly confident he would nail it yet nervous about the challenge before him but he surpassed all expectations with a breathtaking performance and I was a blubbering, emotional, yet overjoyed mess after the first bar. It still does that to me every time I play it. It was that performance that seemed to me to separate the so-called "men from the boys" in the competition.

I was teary many times watching over the weeks - I love feeling the emotions of music and who can't be affected by the beauty of Damien's voice and expression! That's what it's all about heart and soul!

I couldn't tell you how many times he's brought tears to my eyes listening to his music. How does he manage to project so much emotion in his voice? And it's so much better when he sings acoustically, so you can really hear his voice with no distractions.

I've been reduced to tears repeatedly. His singing just gets right into your soul and he transforms you to completely different place.
I love the tissue box idea houndsoflove, every CD/DVD of D's should come with a specially designed D box of tissues hey!
My hubby and kids tease me too for crying when D is singing, but my hubby ended up getting tears in D's songs near the end of Idol too, so I found that amazing as he never cries. He can't tease me now hehe
