Hi everyone, I am finally home after my wonderful long weekend away...although rather stuffed!!
Firstly, thank you for such a marvellous night, ladies!
You Melbourne
s really do know how to have a good time!
I only realised after I had left that I was so in
Teh Coma that I just floated out without even saying goodbye! sorry for being so rude...
I think I am still in a bit of an altered state still, it was just all so marvellous. Damien opened with Catch The Wind, and at first there were quite a few noisy people, but by halfway through the song, they had all settled down. (Isn't it marvellous how he has that effect on a room?
) When he eventually sang Crying and Hallelujah, you could have almost heard a pin drop (oh, except for the rowdy birthday group others have already mentioned
that at first insisted on giving an echoing counterpoint of "cryiiiinnggg"...hmmmm!!)
Just some random memories....
Krissy had me in STITCHES at one point. Damien deliberately did this REALLY dramatic end note that went on and on and on...
show off.
....(can't even remember the song, sorry), but as soon as he finished the note, Krissy let out an earsplitting SQQQUUUEEEEEEEE....as soon as she finished squeeeing, Damien promptly did the note again.....and Krissy instantly SQUUEEEEDDD again...so then he did it AGAIN!! He was grinning, and I SWEAR he was only doing it to get that reaction from her....it was HILARIOUS!! Krissy, you are adorable!
At another point, Damien joked that he thought he might have put his back out, and then said that he was inclined to be a hypchondriac so that wasn't a good thing at all....then later during Wicked Game he did some Irish dancing
....(accompanied by Krissy's SQQEEUUUUESS, AND ours, naturally!)...and afterward joked that he had REALLY put his back out! What a ham...
And um....was the joke about the speedos REALLY what I thought it was?? as in a sly reference to budgie smuggling?? Damien is definitely getting naughtier, thats for sure! (BRING IT ON, I say!
)
My girlfriend Vicki and her daughter Kat and Kat's friend Sara had all come along (thanks so much for making us all welcome, ladies
, especially the lovely Nikki who was down our end of the table
.
Well, by the end of the night, Damien had 3 more fans at the table. Everytime I looked at Vicki, she had her eyes closed, soaking up every note
I of course, didn't close my eyes at any point because I was naturally too busy taking careful inventory of.....of....well, everything else....
I swear its unfair the way Damien just gets better and better looking as he gets older?? It must be Jagger and Jarvis growing so fast that is also building up them guns, too... ;D
The rendition of Danny Boy that Damien gave at the end was the best I have ever heard from anybody, and I SO wish I had videoed that one as well! I did get some videos, which I will post when they have finished uploading.
All in all, a wonderful night and I am SO envious of you other ladies being able to immerse yourself in Damien for a whole WEEK!
GO THE TARTS!!!!
PS. Here is a video of Fishermans Blues: I have also posted in in Music Appreciation. Eric and Indy Star (think that is how her name is spelt??) absolutely rock!
