Apologies for being so late, got home just before 2am after seeing my friend Marcia off (who now will be buying Where We Land and Catch the Wind ;D and got to meet D ;D ;D) Was a long trip back and I took it steady. Okay will do this report in stages for our visitors ;D First: the venue is fantastic and Marcia felt the meal was the best she's had in a long time, so we're going back to Brian's Jazz and Crab night in Feb '09 ha We had Turkish breads with lemon myrtle macadamia nut Dukkah and EV olive oil ;D. Then we had the slow roasted sirloin (which Damien also enjoyed ) with green beans, pont neuf potato and a peppercorn sauce. Then Marcia had the belgian chocolate, brandy and hazelnut tart with espresso anglaise andchocolate covered coffee beans and I had lavender scented brulee with blueberries and almond tuille. We found a lovely cabernet sauvignon from Orange and had a bottle......................or two

Theshow started with Raymond "crazy legs" Schick(sp?) and Damien and Long Way Back Someone in the audience yelled out 'Where's Eric?" so Damien explained that Eric had to go to Indonesia for work and how many mishaps he'd had with his hand being in various doors when they've been shut and leaving shoes behind. Then D told how he'd sung Catch the Wind for his parents in Qatar, so that was the next number and Ray did his first lead....as announced by Damien. After thesong Damien talked about nickers and bras and the leopard print jock which he thinks Jimmy wears every day. So at this point I threw a pair of pink fluoro lacy nickers, but they didn't reach so a gent handed them to D and he hung them on his mic stand( ha the man loves his nickers ). Indi was then introduced after D told the story about how she was so sick with the flu last time at Lizotte's. Next was Annie's Song.....just lovely. Ray was doing a great job too by the way....playing.

Oops....forgot the wardrobe. Damien wore a white t-shirt with a black picture on the front, blue jeans and black cons. Next he talked about how he fancied a teacher and was so nervous when he sang in front of her and we were treated to Guitar Man/ Stairway to Heaven( a little song they whipped up 6 months ago ) and he continued on the unrequited love theme and his new dance steps and did a new (but terrible) shuffle/hop step backwards and admitted it was terrible as "someone" pointed out to him....healso talked about how terrible he was with Celebration. Ray played a little intro but neither the crowd nor Damien pursued that......but he appreciated any claps for his dancing to boost his confidence. So we next heard the terrific Cold Cold Heart which led into Fisherman's Blues (and some crowd singing....woohoohoo....woohoohoo) and a little room competition Next came an amazing rendition of If. D's guitar string went, so he had to play a different guitar and he talked about his love for a girl at age 9 and how 30 friends would crowd the couple up against a wall so they kissed......but that didn't happen for him so next we had the stalkers song of 22 Steps and the words "I never knew it was illegal to go through someone's mail" ....but he said "no, that's not true, it's a lie" and after this song Ray and Indi went off.....Ray to fix the string.

D then talked about doing his intimate section and how important the support of his family and friends had been............... and drinking lots of Guinness. He then told us he was singing a first and sang "And I Love You So" then asked for requests and someone yelled out Walking in Memphis ha but Damien only knew the first line or so......so that's all we got. Iof course yelled out Creep and he then started singing Crying and a gent gave him a touchdown. There were a few requests including Hallelujah and Danny Boy and Creep and he said he would sing Creep for us and explained the words and how he and Eils sang it to each other, on a platform, at their wedding.....so yesssssssssss we had Creep ;D ;D He then had a sip of his sponsor's product Crown Lager and Ray handed him his restrung guitar. He then said he was singing Hallelujah and told the story about how he took credit for writing 'If Tomorrow Never Comes'....scandalous! Hallelujah led into Sleepwalker....first as a solo for Indi on violin and then Ray. Next D explained the error from the internet "flaming floors" "of course everyone's seen flaming floors" and sang Vincent with the incorret words. Then we had Wild World, and Damien acknowledged an error,so did a mini moon walk for his mistake . Last song was All I Want is You and we had the high notes sing-off with the notes getting pretty high, but we hung in there ha. So they finished and went off......but..........there were loud yells of MORE MORE which the crowd thought wasa good idea, so they came back out and cheeky D grabbed his beer bottle and pretended he was going back out ha. He then talked about the dedication of a song to Ryan the last time at Lizotte's and how he would repeat it.....so ........he sang Beautiful and someone in the audience said "thank you" Last song was the wonderful Wicked Game with his dance and much clapping It was yet another amazing night. Before the start of the show, I had been talking to Indi and after I visited the 'ladies' talked with her again and found out her young man was in the audience tonight. Also had a chance to talk with Ray and tell him how well he went as he had been a bundle of nerves before the show. Marcia and I had our coffee/tea and paid the bill and left. When walking to the car I came across George starting to pack the van and said to him "George are you ever going to let me see Damien?" He said "Yes, of course, they're in there (downstairs) now and I asked if I could go in and take Marcia too(didn't want to leave her standing in a dark car park). So walked in and Indi introduced me to her young man as they were leaving in their own transport. Then introduced Damien to Marcia and got to give him a hug and have a chat, talked a little "shop" Interesting to note that they spent a lot on PR in Queensland and therefore nothing for most of the current shows. I then asked D if I could please have a photo as it had been a while since I'd had an individual one at a concert and he said yes it has been a while....yes, 2007 Also got to meet Eils' brother, after which we left as I wanted to give him some space. By the way, D prefers Pilsener.

He sang "And I Love You So". ;D - that is a favourite of mine. have to say Bella it was simply sublime......I almost slid off the chair Okay, a couple of missed things: The show didn't start till 9:30pm....so a late night for them On the way to Lizotte's, I was overtaken by a refrigerated truck which left me with a greasy substance across the windscreen, so Marcia and I spent some time when we arrived there cleaning it before dark I did give D some roses at the 'end' of the show. When I went to book for the Jazz night, the lady was really excited about theshowso I told her about DLO and gave her a Smiley ;D card...she was pretty excited. D told me at the meeting that I was in fine voice ..... someone had to prompt that crowd as they were quieter than the last time....even had Marcia whooping at the end ha had warned her before hand, by the way

Oh Dawn I'm so glad you were able to go to this one and had such a great night! I just loved reading all about it all, and the perfect ending too with a lovely chat with Damien and a nice pic, hope to see it later! Isn't Lizottes just the best, we all had such a great time together there last time in August and I would have dearly loved to go to this one but I will definitely go again if Damien is playing there again. Great to hear the food is just as wonderful as last time! I am THRILLED to hear that Damien has added "And I Love You So" to the set list, it's one of my favourites and I really hope I will hear it too at one of the upcoming shows. Funtarstic report, thank you!! It was just like being there
