Hello..one very tired but happy Damienite reporting in. What a night!! We have had an absolute ball here..and the staff at The Regent were totally brilliant and treated us like royalty! We can't thank them enough.

OK..we had an hilarious car ride after meeting at Southern Cross Station. Lots of laughter and anticipation..then we checked in to our apartment, found the Very Handy pub next door, had a lovely steak lunch (for $15!! ) and then went shopping for supplies ..Krissy will tell you about something we did which D thought was HILARIOUS last night!! ;D

After chilling out for a bit..not long, Kath and Starsis showed up.Lots of squeees later,..and hugs (the non squishy kind)
we all headed off for the gig. As I said the staff were superb.

D came out, waved and smiled to us, then the first set seemed to fly by. audience very quiet, attentive.. D said something about tumbleweeds when asking who had had an unrequited love! .Another ND requested by the audience. D belted it out..to rapt attention and thunderous applause. This gig was in a Cinema..old fashioned type. Lovely big old building with plush red curtains and seats, holds 600 and was almost full!

Second set. D came out and played his little keyboard. We adored Lilac Wine and stood to give D a an ovation after it. He saw us, we were sitting in the first row, off to the side, with our tshirts and glowbands and gave us a nod and huge smile.
Then, to my surpise and delight, he did Goodnight. I really like that song, great melody, nice lyrics. D sang it gorgeously..he asked the audience what they thought. He received a huge positive endorsement.
Then, OMG Great Balls of Fire. We went NUTS!!..he did a little and we ROARED for the whole song..the audience loved it too..he ROCKED!! ;D

hehe.. next: We did the arm actions and Toot Tooted when he sang the first verse. He laughed and said "perfect timing, girls!" The audience cracked up!! We clapped and sang out hearts out..the audience caught up!! ;D

DB was requested and sublime!

Encore..requests..we yelled for Creep..as did others. ;D He said Ok I'll give you a little..and OMFG!! The stratospheric last notes were UNBELIEVABLE I heard people gasp in the audience ..and go crazy after it!!!!

Then MTMG!! on the keyboard..totally freakin FABULOUS!! Followed up by WG and the Irish mix..hooley dooley..what a set!! Many standing Os and the place was Rockin!! D , Ray..who once again is AWESOME and Indi seemed to really love it as well!!

OMG, OK UM....I'VE SAID IT BEFORE BUT I WONT FULLY REPORT TO SUNDAY!, ACTUALLY I'LL MAYBE BE ABLE TO DO IT THIS AFTERNOON, BUT A;FHAJSFHASFJH;A COMA IS AT IT'S BEST!
Trilly has kindly let me quickly use her laptop to tell you about our SANTA PACKAGE!!!
After the first set at interval, i went up to the stage and put a santa hat that said naughty on one side and nice on the other , with....are you ready for this....
A BLACK THONG WITH RED KISSES ON IT!!, but that's not all we creatively put a bag of Nobby's Nut's in the thong LOL that we got from our room

Damien picked up the hat, then pulled out the bag and when the sexy thong was revealed the whole crowd went into fits of laughter, he then looked our way and laughed and smiled and said "I think it's from those lovely ladies sitting over there", we then WOOHOOED and all the rest and as always D says "I think there too small, Ray you might want to wear them" , i yelled out "BUT THERE A LARGE!", don't know if he heard me or not
Ray said something about putting them on D's head?
He then mentioned the nuts again saying... "Nibbly's Nobby's Nut's....SCANDALOUS!!!!!" it was very funny ;D
He had then took the hat off to play the paino, but Indi then put the hat on, D said "Ah it's perfect for her" because it said naughty

Thanks so much for these wonderful reports. How special is that of D to mention the Damienites ~ awwww! It sounds like he has spoilt you all with another fabby night ~ what a brilliant entertainer he is. I'm over the moon that he got lots of standing ovations. I love the set list too, you really were all spoilt.

I'm laughing so much at the naughty pressie. You really are a bunch of lovely That is hilarious!!!

I'm glad you all had such a fun night.

Have a safe trip home and thanks again for these fantastic reports. I almost felt like I was there when I was reading them.

OMG what a set-list!! so many favourites there PLUS Goodnight, MTMG, Creep, Danny Boy and LILAC WINE all in one show would have just about finished me I think That set list is a total DREAM!!

Sounds like it was a really beautiful venue too and a great road trip! I hope Damien might be able to do some more beautiful old country theatres around the country, they seem the perfect sort of setting for his shows for a rural audience. Really excited to hear about it, thanks for the reports everyone!

One thing I remember..before I have to rush off again D did Crying/ Hallelujah this time. He said "I have to do a little of this one (Crying) or I'll get into trouble" ! He began wonderfully..then one and a bit verses into H, he just stopped..and smiled and laughed when the audience realised he'd messed up the lyrics. He said "I've sung that song so many times now" (as we know! ; "and I've only ever done that once before..at the Jeff Buckley Tribute night. Jeff's fans were aghast but they kindly helped me out"...awww.
Gawd, I remember that so well. Jagger was three days old and D was exhausted. I saw the look on his face at the time..he was quite upset, but recovered magnificently. That was also the first time he sang Lilac Wine. I've absolutely adored him singing it ever since. A little synchronicity.

WHAT A SHOW AND ROAD TRIP THIS ENDED UP BEING!
Lots to say so here it goes!!

My day started with getting up at 5:30!, cause of mum working she dropped me off to Nicki's place (nixter) at around 8, we then waited for Di to arive, then we were off to pick up Trilly and Princey at Spencer Street Station, which was kinda a nightmare to get out off , getting out of there felt like a bloody maze!
Anyways WE WERE FINALLY ALL TOGETHER AND OFFICALLY STARTING TEH ROAD TRIP!
Omg it's was a hilarious ride up, just talking about the beautiful man and how excited we were , lots of laughs. The closer we got to Ballarat the more Tartier the conversations seemed to get LOL
I also thought it was appropiate to yell out the window on the freeway to a passing bikey "I LOVE DAMIEN!" , he didn't hear me off course but that didn't matter it was funny
We arrived at Ballarat mid afternoon. Getting through the city was confusing at first, but we found out hotel eventually ;D
We got excited realising that there was a pub right next to it!, so we could conveniently pop in next door for some lunch! Which was awesome, and pretty cheep as well, good meals, we were very happy Damienites
We then went for a walk down the street, to get some supplies for the party later on! , and also to check the venue. We were asking the staff what the arrangement was, we got told it started at 8:30 but didn't know we had to rock up half an hour earlier, so lucky we checked!, but all was good.
We went past a two dollar shop and saw the Santa hats and ran inside to buy some! , we found all these hilarious ones and tried them on , Princey found one that said PRINCESS on it, so she brought it off course , we were laughing out REALLY LOUDLY and making alot of noise, then someone said "Excuse me girls, your making alot of noise" (or somethign like that? lol), we thought it was the lady from the store and freaked out but it was NICKI! Nicki also has the Photo of us with all our hats on.
Finally making it back to the hotel room we obviously got ready! ;D and waited for Kath and Starsis to arrive, we meet up with them and headed down there around 7:30. It felt like it dragged on for ages for us to get in there! GOD!, actually it was just me being impatient and excited , i couldn't sit still


So we finally got in our seats, down the front on the side
THEN THE BRILLIANT MAN BEGAN
I new he would be nervous being his first time in Ballarat, i could just tell but knew he would blow us away
First set list seemd to fly by! but for me was a time to just really sit there and listen to every single word he was saying take in ALL THE D LOVE AS POSSIBLE BABY YEAH!!!
Then that's when i did The Santa Package as my earlier post said!

LIKE TRILLY SAID HOW HE ACKNOWLEDGED THE DAMIENITES, AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW OMG!!!
That was so SWEET!, we were amazed that he did that and got the crowd to give us an applause, WHAT A DARL that was definitely a highlight!

Oh btw, TOUGH CROWD! , i seriously wanted to go up to them and shake them around a bit telling them to lighten up and have some fun! GEEEEEEZ . But thank god in the second set they loosened up, thanks to the appearance of the thong and our screaming and cheering
SECONDDDDD SET WENT OFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!
HE SANG ALL THE SONGS I WANTED HIM TO SING OMG IT WAS FREAKIN CRAZY!
Damien came out and played the piano AND SANG GOODNIGHT OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
I HADN'T HEARD IT YET SO I WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY THAT HE SANG IT! thanks so much D! What a beautiful song!, i love the melody and lyrics, it actually almost made me cry!, i felt the tears coming! that's how much i loved it!

Last note on Creep, FREAKIN UNBELIEVABLE!, it was so high omg!
I love MTMG on Guitar!, it sounds alot cooler, i hope to hear him do it more often LOVED IT!
Lilic Wine, WOWWWWWWWWWWW, so didn't expect him to sing this!, Trilly and I looked at each other and got excited!!! , it was absolutely TO DIE FOR!
When he did Everybody's Talking, I ADORE THIS LIVE, thought the girls would stand up with me and clap and bop along but i was the only one , i didn't care I WAS ENJOYING MYSELF!
Wicked Game always goes off as you would know, IRISH JIG i'll never get sick of that! ;D

Since this was my last gig for the year and probably wont see Damien for along time now , i wanted to see if i could say a quick good bye to him and wish him a merry christmas, Trilly asked George if i could and he went to see if it was ok and it was! ;D Thanks George

I walked backstage and followed the Irish accent lol, i peeped my head in, saw D sitting there, he looked pretty tired but as i walked in he saw me and he literally jumped from his seat! AWWWWWWWWWWW
He gave me a big hug and a kiss, then asked me how i've been, he also said he liked my santa hat cause it said naughty haha. I told him that he sang all the songs i wanted him to sing, the he said "So was there any songs that i DIDN'T sing?", so i was frantically trying to think, then he said this omg...
"I read on the forum somewhere....a song you always request for me to sing...i can't think of it" and then i said unchained Melody most likely!, i do request that alot
Then what else....hmmm....OH YES!, i said how much the crowd sucked for him tonight, he said it varies and he knows that some shows are like that, but people still enjoy whether they cheer and scream or not, and that is true so at least Damien knows that
He loved the Santa Package , i immediately said "THE THONG WASN'T MY IDEA I SWEAR!" , he laughed and said it was great
George was trying to push me along so i got a AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGG PHOTO with him
Wished him a merry christmas and said i wouldn't be at Capers so hope to see him early next year, i'm pretty sure he said something about hopefully making an appearance early next year somewhere?, but now that i've had a good think about it i'm not completely sure how he said it or what quiet frankly!, i could be dreaming LOL so yeah don't read to much into it.
ANOTHER BIG HUG AND A KISS ;D then i was off. I'm so glad i got to talk to him, thank you for saying something Trilly MWAH!!

We all then obviously partied on into the wee hours!
Talking about the show and the sexy man ;D , laughing and being our tarty selves
We actually had all good night sleeps, i think i got about 5 or 6 which was pretty good considering i was on a MASSIVE HIGH
Macca's breaky and then we were off home.

Had an incridible time!, Damien was the best GOD I LOVE THE GUY!
Honestly, in the first set when i was just sitting there, i was just thinking how happy he makes me, i was in total just listening to him, i seriously could hear him song all day everyday, his one in a million

It was so Lovely meeting you Starsis, i'm glad you came along with us
Kath, so great to see you again after a while, your a crack up also, love ya! ;D

I have to say one thing I can claim dibs on the first Kiss of this leg of his Melb tour I drove on tuesday early to share the driving to Wellers with Di, and even though I wasn't going to the meal only the show I wanted to be there early so no standing..lol for old Granma's as I drove around the block sort of at the carpark to drop Di off, would you believe just after I stopped to let Di out...before I went down the road for some chicken...who should pull up but the car with Damien Indi George and Ray etc in..it..omg..what luck..mine...hahaha!!
The show was so amazing and I was lucky enough that the girls managed to squeeze me in on their table..not the front but an awesome view..still...It took awhile to warm the crowd up..but by the second set they were on...
I am really looking forward to going again tomorrow night..belated birthday pressie from dtr...and until next year...sigh.

Thanks for your kind thoughts Girls about Cayla..and yes braffy the same one..lol only have the one Girl...the others are my step grandsons..she is asleep right now and hoping she will be much better tomorrow..
