This is what I hear from the last song... "Standing for all to see the plastic man... dressed in clothes he didn't choose to wear.. Spends his years in shopping malls and clothing stores.. Glanced upon by people on the way.." Sounds like a Mannequin? Yes? Maybe? Way off? Yes, I got the impression that it was about a mannequin just from listening to it once, and checking it against those lyrics (assuming they are right), each line seems to fit. I wonder if the mannequin is a metaphor for something else? Haha, maybe it's a metaphor for how we get pics of D and Photoshop them and make them look completely different, e.g. add bunny ears, even though D doesn't want to look like a bunny.  Ooh Winter, that's definitely a possibility! I pictured a mannequin because of the plastic part, but it does also seem like it's about an Idol. Lol, I'm typing this post as a I read the thread, and I just noticed that you've all already said it's a metaphor for something. I love songs about random things, it's so fun to sing them, and everyone gives you weird looks.  |

I wonder if it's a song about oneself loosing their identity? Not just an Idol person in particular, but anyone who feels like they don't have much control over what they do in life, or it could just be about Chucky! I love the randomness of all this too, and the "thoughts" and "Discussing" of what these songs could be about. ;D Waiting until August to hear them in their entirety will be agonising.  |

I have thought about it (some more)..and...based only on the lines of the song we have heard, I do think he is singing about a mannequin. However, I don't think he walking through Myer and thought to himself..."hey there has never been a song about a mannequin I might try that"... I believe it's a Metaphor for something else. As Roxy just suggested, perhaps it's about losing your identity. The first line: standing for all to see, the plastic man...dressed in clothes he didn't choose to wear does indicate it's about being forced to be someone you are not. Plastic man=fake man. However, "spends his years in shopping malls and clothing stores", does seem to imply mannequin...but again could be a metaphor for store signings and TV appearances. Without hearing the rest of the song, it definitely is hard to speculate on what the entire song is about as the rest of it could reveal something completely different. These teasers are great and definitely give us something to discuss and think about  It's like a guessing game |

In a separate question about lyrics... In the first song...about "sorry"... When D is singing in the Cher voice, does everyone else get? This is the way I say I'm sorry.. Not gonna lie to make you want me! As you can tell, I am rather obsessed with lyrics |

Agree totally Carla -it's pretty clear..so is the last one! Thank goodness...still can't figure out the other one's- they sound different everytime I hear them.

I know I'd love to hear the whole song ;D Plastic Man- shame it's not going to be on the album though. It's sounds really good. Thanks D for stopping by and letting us know about "Plastic Man".  I also would love to hear the full version,  as your voice is just DEVINE in it. Very clear and melodic! (I also want to know the rest of the lyrics now too) but in spite of what I've just said, that song was probably my least favourite from what I've heard so far, but still nice. ;D Sounds like you are working quite hard at the moment, so I hope you are getting plenty of R&R.
