Hey Perthies, Telethon is on the weekend of Nov 13/14, much later than usual. I thought Damien wouldn't be able to make the usual Oct. date as he would most likely be in the U.S but I heard that he is coming . Can anyone confirm ?? Tickets for the opening and closing of Telethon go on Sale through Ticketek on Monday Oct. 4th. I'd love to meet some Perth Girls if anyone goes to this!

Thanks for the info, Debangel, I was wondering when the tickets would go on sale! I've been to Telethon every year since Damien started attending, so I am planning to go this year again too ~ it's a fantastic night!! I am really hoping Damien will be there as I know he loves Telethon and it's a great platform for his music...... will have to keep our fingers crossed, I am sure he will make it if he possibly can! Keep in touch and we can arrange to meet up!

yes it said in the paper today hes appearing shall be watching but cant attend It was exciting to have it confirmed in print, Shadow!! Looks like there will be a lot of the Idol graduates - Damien, Wes Carr, Stan Walker, Jess Mauboy, Marcia Hines.......... as well as the Potbellez & Justice Crew, Mark Vincent & Bobby Andonov........ what would telethon do without reality talent shows!! Anyway...... it's always a great night for around $20 a tix, so will make sure I go again!!

Tina, sounds like you've done this before! How do the ticket sales work? If you are booking for the opening, how long are you seated for? And in your experience would that get you a fair chance of seeing the main acts? If you get bundled out and miss Damien . Would you just get in the queue to come back in again? How busy is it there on a Sat night?? Hope you can answer some of these questions

Ill try and answer and tina can also from my experience you book and get an actual seat if you book early you can get really close to the stage um prepare to maybe be on tv though any seat is great the view from anywhere is awesome the other times are free for all but at 6 think it is they get everyone out and then the ticketed people are ushered in you can stay in all night sat if you wanted! and all the sunday night to the closing its your seat um the stars (not damien) often run up the aisles and youre expected to act excited and slap their hands if youre anywere near the aisle etc eep embarressing also!! beware that quite often the stars sing in the session beforehand (before 6) so its good to go say 2 hrs earlier and watch cos both times Ive been Ive missed a song because thought they would be only singing from 6 also they often do a late song on saturday so dont leave immediately Ive seen song at like 10.30 after certain time only dud acts are on though eg after 11pm it becomes obvious when to leave they dont seem to do the red carpet so prob dont bother with that (of course could change) its a lot of fun hope that helps! you wont miss damien he may however only do one night so check if hes doing both if you can. if he doesnt have other committments that weekend he would do both

I think Shadow's answered all your questions, Deb. As she said, the earlier you book the better your seat, and it's yours for as long as you stay there. The Saturday night main entertainment runs till probably 9.30, then lesser acts come on after that.... then it revs up again Sunday evening. I've only ever gone to the Saturday night show. Damien has always performed in that segment, altho I guess there is no guarantee that he will again as there is a pretty packed line-up by the looks of the newspaper article... however he has been mentioned, so hopefully that means a spot on Saturday night!! The red carpet arrival was fanastic fun, although they cancelled it last year, so I imagine it won't be happening again this year. If it is, it's definitely worth coming early for that! The Saturday night show is usually a sell out, and then when you leave queues of people are waiting to take your seat! It's a great night, so make sure you go if you can, even though Damien will only be a small part of it......... you might get to see him doing things you don't normally!!

Is that for real? He's flying oprah's audience into Sydney in December, so that wouldn't match up. Damien being on his plane is a longshot, but anything is possible I guess
