Damien has said in the past when we have requested WCAT that it is quite a difficult song to do and hard on the voice. That is why we have always been grateful when he has done it especially for us.

Agreed, Braff. WCAT and Stay both fall into that category. It's wonderful when he does them live. *siigh* Hopefully we'll hear some of D's best originals again with the full band after the new album next year!

Thanks for the reports girls. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Like you Deb I love "Sky" - just beautiful. I wonder why Damien is reluctant to sing some of his own songs sometimes. They are just beautiful and he sings them so beautifully. They may be difficult to sing, but hey, this gorgeous man has the most fantastic voice and would just nail 'em!! Great set list, although a few songs I don't know.

Moondance O Lassy Go (that's the words in the chorus, I think) Blower's Daughter Crazy Love Carrick Romeo & Juliet NOML 22 Steps Sky Annies Song 7 drunken... Danny Boy Rocky Road to Dublin Creep Why Worry Wicked Game with Kiss! Hallelujah I looked at this setlist and just about FLATLINED!!!!! /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\_______________________ OMG what an onslaught of gorgeousness and all the new songs, that's one of the best setlists I've seen yet alongside the originals shows - W-O-W!!!!! So great to see the Blower's Daughter there - can anyone remember has Damien done that at an indoor gig before? (I've only ever seen him do that outdoors at St Pat's) - Tina when we saw Damien sing it together that time there were 20,000 people there so there was that whole epic feel, would love to hear your thoughts about the differences, did he blend another song into it or do it straight through? Am so excited to see some Damien Rice returning to the setlist and would love to see some more of his, they are so "our Damien" as well! Seriously, I think I just about stopped breathing reading the list - Moondance, Go Lassy Go, Blowers Daughter then Crazy Love then Carrickfergus then R&J/NOML - OMG!!!!! Wow what a show!! I love all the other songs too but all those rare ones together, how awesome!! Was really hoping the new Van M songs would be either Crazy Love or Into the Mystic, so thrilled seeing Crazy Love there & cannot wait to hear Damien's version!! Love his Moondance (and the acoustic intro). Those of us who were at Ronan's Day on the Green tour with Tina Arena and Damien last summer heard Ronan do Go Lassy Go (Wild Mountain Thyme), is that the same song? Am really looking forward to hearing Damien's! Have been hoping to hear Damien's Carrickfergus for years, he's done it at a couple of rare shows in the past but I haven't heard him live yet, hope he keeps that one in the set! It will make me cry though, lol, but am always up for having my heart torn to pieces by a gorgeous song. So beautiful to see Sky in there, fantastic you guys had your requests sung! Then another run of rare ones with Creep, Why Worry & Wicked Game with Kiss! (So great seeing Kiss with Wicked Game again, it's such a great way to finish!!) We thought Why Worry was divine when we heard Damien sing it at Eric's show (& yes, another one that makes me cry, lol ), so great to see it's in the new setlists! This show looked absolutely amazing, so glad you enjoyed it so much Tina and Deb and thank you so much for reporting back - hope you guys had a great weekend of shows!

I had already booked for three shows before they announced that this was the "ïrish journey tour" I was of course excited but also wishing I could see him singing all his own songs as well The first show had quite an Irish feel but by the 4th show, I felt like I was just watching a regular D show with lots of covers. Check the setlist for the Oxford show when I get it up ( should be tomorrow) and see what you think? Not sure if I'm right? Did he think the shows weren't working all Irish? Or was he just going with the flow?? Great to see you in such raptures over the show Shimmery!

I had an unbiased report from this show by a lady who has seen Damien before and I quote (from her daughter)
mum said she had a lovely time ..... no didnt go up to him ...not her style ..... she said he was fantastic ......♥
Damien usually gets a good feel for the audience and he adjusts his setlist as he goes along. That may explain the changes that happened.

Love your enthusiasm Shims! From memory, I think Blower's Daughter was on it's own, not blended with anything else, but I could be wrong. It was really lovely, I love that song because it always reminds me of the first time I ever heard Damien sing (Idol audition). Comparing it to St Pats day, mmmmmmm, I was probably too overwhelmed on St Pats day at Hyde Park to really remember much at all except the whole experience, but the performance the other other night was gorgeous ~ I hope you get to hear that one again soon! Crazy Love was really good - the Van Morrison songs suited Damien perfectly!!
