Happy is an understatement of gigantic proportions This was the best show ever for me Pretty Woman was massive, never expected him to rock it up that much will write more when i get back to Perth . Even though D didn't stay long as Eil's was there, it was lovely that he came and gave me a hug to acknowledge me, but I told him i would be back sunday night, so he couldn't get away that easily!

Shims, I was completely expecting you to turn up at any second until Damien walked on stage and I asked someone why you still weren't there and heard you weren't coming! What a shame you missed it. Was nice to meet you properly, Deb. Have fun tonight! Yeah Braffy, the crowd is usually good anyway at Brass Monkey, but I definitely think it was a lot better than usual. And yeah, Nuffy, Cesar was there. He and Steve were swapping instruments all night. At one stage (I think just before Danny Boy), Steve stole Cesar's instrument and Damien asked Cesar what he was going to be playing, and Cesar said he didn't know yet. Five seconds later they launched into the song with Cesar on the flute, playing perfectly. So talented. Meant to add before - thank you to the people who walked me back to my car (and thanks for protecting me from the scary lady who gave me a death threat ).

Bwaha! Spuddles, you are very very naughty! and you're welcome. ;D However, I have to correct one thing. D didn't intro Annie's Song with the new name, but he did mention he'd heard it called something different. However, everything else you said is spot on.. WOW Oh WOW oh WOW!!! Last night totally ROCKED!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!Damien and the band were absolutely on fire! Pretty Woman was just sensational,.and when Steve grrrrowled as Damien smouldered it up, the room erupted into rock-star screeeams! Literally! We were really feeling the Dluurve in the room last night, the audience sat in enraptured silence when D sang songs they might not have known, but sang, clapped, whistled and pounded the table when they knew them! Eric was given a huge reception too.. his playing last night was just incredible! He seemed to be loving every second! ;D The banter was witteh of course, Dawnie's gift providing some of the funnier stuff! Extremely well played, D! and one other thing I have to mention.. when D sang " Crazy Love",( maybe it had something to do with Eils being present) he had us gasping! I've never heard him sound schmexier, and that's the truth! The audience roared and gave them a standing ovation after Hallelujah, and many star-struck, happy fans stayed for the signing. Freakin BRILLIANT!

and yep, it was lovely meeting Deb. Welcome, and have fun tonight. We'll meet again, I'm sure. PS. One or two other things come to mind ( I'm tired, so forgive disjointedness) Golden Line received a massive ovation last night (even more so than Annie's Song, which is always popular). The Chilean flavour of Steve, (drums) Eric and Cezar added to it marvellously! In fact. all D's originals did! and one tiny crit. Beautiful is hauntingly wonderful with Cezar's intro on the wooden flute, and D sang it so superbly emotionally, however I felt the song had reached a natural, gorgeously soft conclusion when D finished singing, so the electric guitar coda grated a little. Otherwise, nothing but SQUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEE! again left to say.

Bwaha! Spuddles, you are very very naughty! and you're welcome. ;D Me? Oh yes, you're right about Granny's Song. Haha, did anyone else hear Steve growling after the show? He reckons the whole band should do it. Would love to hear that! Yeah, Eric was awesome last night. I reckon I go to Damien's shows just as much (or almost as much) to see Eric as I do to see Damien. He's funtarstic to watch. Seemed like more people than usual stayed back to buy albums/books and meet D.

Glad you all got to enjoy that, especially my Perth Pal! ;D

I'm a little bit more "with it" now!! not much but a little! AWESOME SHOW!! full stop! From start to finish this show was everything I had hoped for. Sharing the night with such amazing friends (yes the Damienites rock) it was soo nice to finally meet Krisssssssy Nixter Glawz and Deb Starsis but the show itself was just BRILLIANT!! The Brass Monkey has always been a great venue, so I was lucky to witness another BRILLIANT performance. This was the first time I'd seen D with a band since the State Theatre, so I was really looking forward to it, and they certainly add that extra something, but in saying that, I think D does a fantastic job of getting the audience revved up all by himself too! (as witnessed the night before). I can't even rave about any particular song as they were all amazing!, yeah....Grannys song makes me cringe, but D does sing it beautifully, so I'm happy to take a breather and just sit and listen to it. Golden Line certainly gets the crowd going, and even though some people may not know the song, you only had to hear the applauding after it (and all through the night) to know that people loved it. and in saying that...Damien really could get away with singing more of his own songs, and here's proof...... While I was waiting outside the toilets, I overheard a few ladies talking at a nearby table, she was only in her 30's and she was saying to her friends "you know what really amazes me with him (Damien) is that even when he sings his own songs and no-one knows them everyone still really loves them, you can see it on there faces and their reactions afterwards and that's how you can tell a really good performer. She was certainly gushing!! and her friends were all agreeing with her! The whole night was just one big PARTY and the atmosphere was electic!! from the slower songs to the more rockier ones, I think everyone that was there would agree that it was one kickass of a show!! Trilly was nearly appointed "offical back up singer" when Damien was singing (shit I can't remember the song now, was it Creep?) and Trills sang "solo" to him! it was perfect timing and Damien laughed as did the audience, and he made a comment that it was good timing or something, (sorry have a fuzzy head today, Trills can you enlighten us some more please?) it was a great moment that's for sure Loved the pressie Dawn gave him....and loved D's response even more!! that certainly was a good comeback from him!! So many good things about the whole night, it was also lovely to see Eils and their friend from Qld there, and being it was the first time Eils had been to the Brass Monkey I'm sure she enjoyed herself as we all did. Loved hearing the story about Jagger at Preschool too, how cute! only a couple of critism comments about the show.... When Damien sings "Beautiful" I wish he would end the song and not jam it up with Eric afterwards. That song starting with the whistle (or violin as it use to) is such a beautiful song that it really needs no extras added at the end. Just like he finishes Crying, he needs to finish Beautiful the same way... ;D Also, I wish Damien would introduce his original songs by naming them, he usually only says....."this is from my new album RJ, and it goes a little bit like this", the thing is, no-one knows the name of the song as he doesn't introduce it. He doesn't really need to do that with most of the cover songs as most people would know them, but for me if I didn't know the album, I'd like to know what song was what, it just sticks in your head a bit more I think. ;D so all in all... BRILLIANT AMAZING PERFECT SHOW!! Thank you Damien

Totally agree that D should intro his originals by name Rox. People love them, but need to know what they're called!! Haha, the "back -up singer" moment was during Creep, when D said he was going to repeat a particular line (because he loves it!) He left an opening for " YOU"VE got a perfect body" and he sang, "I've got a perfect soul".. the timing was perfect, and D said "nice bit of singing there!" Loved it!

WOW WHAT A NIGHT IT WAS IT REALLY WAS WHAT A NIGHT. First it was great to meet DLO members --What a happy bunch you are. We had a great table and we took my son and his fiance to the BM for the first time and not the last after this show. No matter what I write here it cannot do justice to the magic of the show here on Saturday night There were so many highlights but the outstanding moment to us was the breathtaking performance of PRETTY WOMAN with Steve's growl and the short sharp ending to a rocky Pretty Woman. This was a rare moment and when Damien finished the song with" O PRETTY WOMAN" --- THE ROAR WAS DEAFENING AND I BELIEVE EVERYONE WAS STANDING AS ONE WITH SCREAMS OF DELIGHT. There was something very special about tonight and I think it was a combination of Damien in very fine voice indeed and the the Brass Monkey itself where the it seems to be the perfect venue atmosphere wise. So many highlights but to name a few Crying Creep Golden line Guitar man Beautiful Brilliant show and as we were leaving after having photos with Damien and Eric we said that wished we could have made tomorrow night as well......... WELL INDEED Sunday afternoon about 3.00 pm after an intensive conversation between my good wife and myself we come to a decision that we would cancel our previous commitment for that night and go to BM again I rang the BM and only two place still available on the stools near the back and we said OK --Book us in. I thought that this could not possibly match the previous night but it sure did it was possibly not as noisy as the previous due to the reduction in DLO members however just as good with Wicked Game a standout that was not done on Saturday . The people next to us told us that they voted for Damien on AI but had never seen him live and there were hoping he was as good as he was on idol --My wife asked them what was there favourite song on idol and they replied " O Crying" as he in particular was a mad Roy Orbison fan and he thought that Damien was the closest to Roy that he has ever heard. After Crying he whispered to me after Crying as Damien held that last note for ages "I THINK HE SINGS THAT SONG CRYING BETTER THAN ROY. Both super nights and we were so glad to go again on Sunday to witness a truly remarkable musician Sunday was a sellout as was Saturday and a lot of people we talked to on Sunday night said that this was their first Damien concert goers and the general feeling that I was receiving is that it won't be their last.

Hey Brian, it was great to see you and Barb there on Saturday night, ;D it truly was a brilliant gig! Glad you went last night too.. Can you give us a hint or two about differences to the setlist, if any apart from Wicked Game? and wasn't the reaction to PW just AMAZING??? Gawd, I LOVED that! So did D and the band, I think!
