Hi D You mentioned in your tour date thread that you are taking requests for your up and coming shows. Well, as you know, us Damienites are never backward with coming forward with our thoughts and opinions so I figured we should start a thread of requests. We realise you can only take them into consideration and that many of us have very different tastes but I thought you might like to hear our thoughts... I guess I should start?? As much as I would love for you to do a lot of songs from Remember June, I realise they are not easy to do without a band, however, it would be great if you could throw one or two in? We all love your originals! I am presuming you are wanting requests of covers? I am not sure if I am in the minority here, but would love to hear you do something new and different. Don't get me wrong, I could listen to you sing anything but songs like Annie's Song and Danny Boy have been done over and over. Sorry, I don't mean to offend , but just would love to hear you do some new covers. Something that surprises everyone and gets the crowd singing along I am going to put my thinking cap on and come back in with some suggestions but have to say, I would love to hear you do something by Muse, Keane or U2. Thanks Damien, we can't wait for the shows!

D I second Carla's requests in the most enthusiastic, heartfelt and genuine way! I've been wanting you to sing some more Muse, Radiohead or U2 for such a long time now. I know that these are bands you admire greatly, however, there's something you need to realise - your amazing voice IS up to Matt Bellamy, Thom Yorke or Bono! Yes, that's right, BELIEVE IT! ;D I am positive that no-one would dare criticise you for singing their songs, especially LIVE. Soooo, pleeeeaase let me die happy (a long time from now, I hope! haha) and sing some of their music acoustically Here's a few suggestions to choose from: Sunday Bloody Sunday, Exit Music (For a Film), Fake Plastic Trees, The Soldier's Poem, Unintended, Thoughts of A Dying Atheist (just so it's not too easy)! ....plus your St ay, and maybe the extremely rare, but divine Come To Me could make an appearance at some stage?? In fact, anything of yours. Maybe even Plastic Man?? (hey, if you're jumping off a cliff, you may as well try to fly!) and anything Dire Straits or Van Morrison. ;D and erm, (can't help myself!) re Keane: Everybody's Changing or Bedshaped please. I don't ask for much.... Have fun choosing! ;D

May I please request something for Lizotte's Sydney (Dee Why) Maggie May will be there and whenever you ask for rrequests her little voice doesn't get heard. Will you please do Time in a Bottle for Maggie May. Thank you Damien. My requests ----- anything ORIGINAL of yours - Golden Line and Don't Give Up are currently the faves.

I am going to add something and probably embarrass you and myself but here goes... Damien, you are a sexy man who really does appeal to the majority of the female audience. Feel free to use this sex appeal at any time during your shows! As you have no doubt noticed, when you sing songs like Kiss, or do the line in Creep "I've got a perfect body"...the girls all go wild. Don't be shy....WORK IT BABY!!! OMG, I love it. "Never Tear Us Apart" would be nice to hear and like Carla said...."WORK IT !" ;D

Lots of good suggestions above. I'm not greedy, just placing a list for your selection!! Damien, I really love any of your ORIGINAL songs. They are superb pieces of music with wonderful lyrics, all of them, but if I had to pick ..... (in no particular order) would love to hear all or any of - Sky Golden Line Stay Shine like the Sun Alone Sorry Goodnight I Still Miss us See You again Plastic man Wouldn't change a thing (just dreamy) Unordinary World Long Way back If you want to throw in some covers, agree with Bella, :"Never tear us apart" would be awesome, or maybe In Dreams Kiss Leave your hat on (for a bit of a giggle) Time in a bottle (or other Jim Croce) Creep (amazing and very sexy) Lordy,. you could sing the newspaper and I'd love it (sure we all would) I agree with Carla about the old standards.

I second the requests for Never Tear Us Apart, Wicked Game/Kiss and Time In a Bottle!! Just a short list of some thoughts... (lol hope you're not sorry you asked ) Since you mentioned maybe wanting to change the sets around a bit these next few shows... I've been thinking about some rarer ones which could be perfect for your voice as well as suit a solo/acoustic part of the show and cover a lot of moods/atmospheres. Some we've already heard you do but are rare .. It turned into a big list! & ended up more a list of thoughts that hopefully you'll enjoy and maybe find something here you'd like to experiment with. We love your originals and always want those, so for this I'll just pick a couple of the rare ones which are so beautiful solo/acoustic OriginalsI Still Miss Us, For All of Time This is a bit out there, but I think the pace and feeling of Come To Me really blends beautifully with The Beatles Across the Universe ( just a thought!) U2All I Want Is You, Electrical Storm, The First Time, Grace, The Hands that Built America, If You Wear That Velvet Dress, In a Little While, Love is Blindness, One, Original of the Species, So Cruel, Stay (Far Away So Close), Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of, Tryin’ to Throw Your Arms Around the World, Van Diemen’s Land, White As Snow, She’s A Mystery to Me (Orbison/Bono) David BowieLady Grinning Soul, Rock ‘n’ Roll Suicide, Heroes, Rock 'N Roll With Me, Sons of the Silent Age, Wild is the Wind Jeff BuckleyEverybody Here Wants You, Lover You Should’ve Come Over, Lilac Wine, New Year’s Prayer Lou ReedPerfect Day Luka BloomBe Still Now, I’ll Walk Beside You, Love is a Place I Dream Of, (Dylan) Make You Feel My Love Damien RiceDelicate, The Blower’s Daughter, Cold Water Moby Porcelain (acoustic version) Van MorrisonCrazy Love, Into the Mystic, (Kavanagh) Raglan Road Crowded House/Finns/Split EnzFall at Your Feet, Fingers of Love, Pineapple Head, Private Universe, Stuff N’ Nonsense, Truth, Voices, Without A Doubt Russell MorrisSweet Sweet Love Masters ApprenticesBecause I Love You Christy MooreRide On The Doors Light My Fire, The Crystal Ship I'd add a few different ones if it was a full band concept (like Deep Purple's When A Blind Man Cries, and a few of the rockier U2 ones etc. Some others from No Line on the Horizon would be perfect with just you and Eric but I'm just sticking to solo ones for this)

A few thoughts: I loved the Van Morrison songs you sang in Perth, just gorgeous! It made me get my old CD out and have a listen to some more of Van. For purely selfish reasons, would love to hear Brown Eyed Girl! ;D The Mark Knoffler song was also divine, would love to hear more like that!
As I mentioned in the other thread, I would love for you to put down your guitar at times, and just sing a few songs where you purely focus on the singing....... don't get me wrong, I love your guitar playing/singing ability, but it would be something different and I think would add more depth to the performance of the songs!
I would also love to hear more of your originals and second Shims request for "I Still Miss Us".

I would LOVE to hear either Fix You or The Scientist (or both), by Coldplay. And I agree with Shims - Everybody Here Wants You and Fall At Your Feet would be cool. And the Come To Me / Across The Universe combo sounds quite interesting, I'd enjoy that. Oh, and Summer of '69, I dunno why, but there's an acoustic version of it that I like, which would be cool to hear. Ooooh, and KISS! Ohhh, and if you want to do (rare) originals, how about Who You Are! Or Fool! Or Cold Cold Heart! Or Alone! Or The Other Side! Or Harry! Haha, sorry D, this is a bit ridiculous, how are you ever supposed to pick songs when we're naming this many?
