Jupiters packed and great audience. Loved jow the announcer at beginning mentioned the amazing talent and Damien Leith out the back tuning in with David Campbell/ ok Damien just rocked SLTS with a full backing band, sounded awesome. good response from the crowd, We were rocking with him. Eric and Damien did a sublime version of Hallelujah a nd the crowd really felt the emotion like we all do, there was just the two of them. At the end the announcer from hot tomato said he did not know who the guitarist was but mentioned meatloaf/ Only did the two songs as did most of the others/ went for nearly three hours and wow did that place rock with all the performers giving it there all/ Damien never came back on again though his name was mentioned by Leo Sayer and David Campbell at the end-= thats how feeling right now. Never saw Bella way too many people there, Damien in tight jeans and a grey buttoned shirt looked very smart and Quite a few gasps when Damien hung onto that note in Hallelujah for long for ever . No interval or break just three hours of amazing singing. crowd young, middle and older. Sure hope they do televise it one day. No pics allowed and security standing all over the place/ snuck in one shot but don't think it was very successful/ You were all so right Damien is sounding better than ever Goodnight worn out and hands aching from all the clapping0g etc THANK YOU DAMIEN AWESOME AS EVER/ ;D

Sounds like you had an amazing time! Thanks so much for sharing all the enjoyment and excitement of the show Tara, how fantastic it all sounds with 3 hours of all those major artists (the highlight of course being Damien!) Two perfect songs for the occasion, it would have been so moving. Loved reading your report, thank you Tara! Hope you had a great time too Bella!

Damien was so good he got mentioned twice. www.mygc.com.au/article/news/local-newsroom/31043-aussie-classics-get-money-flowing.phpAussie classics get money flowing Date: 14 February 2011 - 06:27am Increase Font Size Decrease Font Size Print Article Email to a friend "We are singers, we aren't good with our hands, we're good with our lungs." David Campbell used few words to explain why he, and his peers, were happy to take to the stage at Jupiters Theatre last night - for free. The son of Aussie rock royalty, Jimmy Barnes, Campbell brought the house down following a stellar line-up his dad was probably mates with in the 80s. The Sounds of Support Flood Relief concert, featuring the who's who of Australian music, raised $60,000 just from ticket sales, for the Premier's Flood Appeal. For the small ticket price of $50, the audience got more then they paid for. Campbell followed Paulini, Mark Gable from the Choir Boys, Damien Leith, Melinda Schnieder, Dragon, Wendy Matthews, Damien Leith, Christine Anu, Lisa Hunt, Daryl Braithwaite and Grace Knight. Former Australian Idol, Leith received a standing ovation for his rendition of the Leonard Cohen classic Hallelujah.
While Anu recounted her memories of the 1974 floods, when she was just a toddler living in Brisbane. The beautiful singer said, watching the latest devastation on TV brought back memories of the smell of the river and cleaning products used during the re-building efforts. Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale made the journey to the Coast to thank locals who were part of Operation Goodna. He told host, Hot Tomato's breakfast announcer Sean Flanagan, the support from far and wide has helped rebuild the city. Pisasale also vowed to to hunt down insurance companies that are refusing to pay up. Hopefully the money raised from the concert will be able to bring some comfort to those who've lost everything.
