I feel for you Deb and Tina... the meet and greet is always a hilight, but then again the whole show is a hilight! Just to see him and hear him sing is an honour. Bummer about the photos. There was no flash allowed at Crown but we could still take photos... amazing how well mine turned out considering. I thought he would stay overnight and leave this morning, hope he's full of beans for you girls at Jupiter's tonight.

Thanks for the reports girls but huge bummer about the cameras and of course the meet and greet. I can understand your dissappointment and I bet Damien would have done more if he could. Sounds like the show was amazing though

Oh, what a pity that you didn't get a chance to say hi Damien does seem to like Perth though, so maybe he will be back soon The camera thing seems so random. Last week a theatre employee told me photos were fine with no flash, but starsis was told no photos at all! I really don't understand - if Damien doesn't care, why should they?

Sounds and (looks like, from elsewhere) you guys really loved the gig! ;D The show totally rocks doesn't it? Bummer, as the others have said that because of D's tight schedule he couldn't do an M&G. Like the others too, I'm sure he'll be back over your way in the near future. The photo thing always gets me too. Some places have given up the fight to control shots from their venue, which makes total sense since nearly every digital device can take pics or even movies these days, and unless they want to strip-search and confiscate, they've pretty much got Buckley's of stamping it out, so why bother? I get the no flash rule though. It's harder to take a good shot in some places without it and it can really bother performers on stage. That's the only restriction that makes an ounce of sense to me. Again, bummer for you guys though. We feel your pain. s

Thanks for your commiserations girls - it's appreciated!! A show doesn't feel complete without a hug and a chat at the end... and I'm sure there was close to 1000 people feeling the same way last night!! It was definitely a packed house - probably average age 50++, definitely the oldest group I've seen at a Damien concert. A good mix of men and women - there was a big bald guy in the front row right in front of us who just sat there all night with his head grooving around to the music - he really enjoyed it!! I could see Damien glancing at him all night!! It was quite funny! At the end after the Hallelujah encore, we all stood up and clapped while they played the last bit of music, and to my surprise he was one of the one's who stayed seated - I thought he was dying to get up and groove all night! I was certainly dying to groove!! The full band is fantastic - very groovy and rocky! Love the Mean Woman Blues (is that right?)!! I love the little video that Damien has posted on facebook, it really brings back so many memories of the night! I didn't realise Eric was videoing, I thought he was taking photos! Last night, in fact all of yesterday, passed in a bit of a blur for me... not taking photos or saying hi to Damien kind of makes it feel less real! So seeing that vid confirmed that it really did happen!! Wish I could do it all over again tonight!! I got my t-towel, and one day when I get it signed, I'm going to frame it - perfect colours for my kitchen!!

I am uploading my sneaky shots as we speak (type ), so I have time to ramble on about the show. Jess Chalker had quite a nice voice, but I thought it was difficult to follow when she was explaining about each song, I thought she mumbled a bit. Then a lot of the songs , I just couldn't hear the words because of that. But later on I found I missed a couple of D's comments, so It was actually the microphone/sound. LOL, she sang a song about being scared of flying, and then said "and I have to fly out at 1am in that storm!" She finished with "Landslide", such a beautiful song. on with the show... D wore his ROY uniform (we should change the name of this smiley face from COOL to ROY ), with teh very big belt buckle! I think it was to hold up his skinny jeans!!!!!! They did look a bit looser than usual. Actually I was surprised how much thinner he looked in person , even his fingers were bonier! I may have been in the 2nd row but I was dead in front of D and I don't think I took my eyes off his face for the whole night. Every time he looked out into the audience the light caught his eyes Plenty of hip action, he definately couldn't do that before I don't remember anyone mentioning the hips during the opening of working class man, though i think he would have done it at the other shows (do I need to elaborate?) The only "dancable offence" of the night was Caeser. D started BEAUTIFUL and Caeser ran off the stage He had forgotten his flute . He was shaking his booty for all to see, didn't think he had it in him! Eric was cracking up, as usual Everything about it was . The second it was over, you want to know when the next one is, roll on Telethon weekend! So sad, we didn't get to talk with him. Got my teatowel, Mum loved the show, in her own "boring mum", kind of way! Pics still uploading. Should they take this long (6 photos, 45 mins, still going) or am I doing something wrong?? Can't believe right at this moment Damien is on stage in QLD, when he was right before my eyes just moments ago

I just remembered, the stage was quite high and our seats were low. The opening video was on a full backdrop screen, but between the stage height and the drums/keyboards we were not able to read what was written on the bottom of the screen, Anyone remember?

I agree about Cesar, Deb, he really was a bit of a dancing surprise package - gave the old hips a good grinding!!
I also could not read all of the words on the starting package which was a shame, but just enjoyed the overall ambience!!
I could hear a few grumbles about Jess singing - I think the audience were definitely there for the main show and were not expecting a support act! My dad was one of the grumblers, he thought she would never end - altho he loved Damien - his first show, probably his first concert in my living memory!! I thought Jess had a beautiful voice and look, but it was hard to hear her comments. You are probably right about the sound, I could not hear the name of the drummer or keyboardist when Damien mentioned them a few times, and it was very bassy - the thump of the bass just echoed through the floor!

Just reading through the threads I've missed while I was away. Great reports! Sounds like Perth was a huge success . I haven't seen his video yet..I have so much to catch up on. I hope not seeing D afterwards didn't spoil it for you. I tend to go with the expectation that I won't see him so then if I do it's a bonus. It must be hard for him to make these decisions, and I'm sure he doesn't do it lightly. Bummer about the photos too..I decided this time not to try to take any photos..even before I knew that I couldn't have anyway and I'm sort of glad really. I wanted to soak it all up & the show went so quickly. The lights looked stunning at Jupiters..sounds and looks like the other concerts had the same effect..very dramatic! Anyway, let's hope D has had time to relax and regroup before the next shows! (but knowing him he's probably spending the week writing a thesis on molecular biology! )

This was the most amazing concert I have ever been to, Damien was sensational. When he sang " Running Scared " it just took my breath away, I think that was the most popular song with the audience, and the audience just loved him. Jess was really good she has a very nice voice. Eric's guitar playing was a bit to much at times. I thought the band was fantastic. Unfortunately I had to sit by myself and my sister sat on the other side if the theartre, because we could only get single tickets but that didn't matter it was still amazing.

Zeeta, that is wonderful that you were able to go to this. It's a shame that you were sitting seperately from your sister but I guess that is the price to pay for a SOLD OUT concert

Thanks for the additional reports ladies, LOL about Caeser - you wouldn't think he had it in him! I think we are all in love with the man - in fact I am always mesmerised by him and like you Deb, can't take my eyes off him for the whole performance Glad your mum enjoyed the show. You too Zeeta, pity about the seating, but at least you both got to see a fantastic show - bet there was a lot of talking about it on the way home and over the next few days... Glad your dad enjoyed it too Tina... sounds like D has a lot of new fans from this new album... let's hope the momentum keeps up.
