Thanks Shims... I thought it was too much to wish for that Damien would be on. I think it's only going this week with the DWTS people so obviously he won't be there. Not to worry, ladies. Damien "The Dark Horse" Leith continues his stealthy mission to take Aus by surprise!

I think it is a shame that Damien isn't getting any Dancing With the Stars promotion. Most of the others have their own single ad promotion for it and tonight I saw another version of the ad with Damien and the microphone and the participants were shown in a different order. Then later there was another ad and Damien wasn't even in it. I have seen single ads for Manu (often), Brynne, Dan Ewing (Home and Away), Samantha Armytage, the Brackens and some others I think.
Damien, Jan Stephenson and to a lesser extent Mark Occhilupo don't seem to have any promotion by the DWTS people. I hope it picks up and he/they get some.

I think the advertising is pretty much about promoting Channel 7 personalities And Deal... would be the same deal! I wouldn't hope for them to pay Damien much attention until he starts blowing them all out of the water

I just saw that other re worked version of the ad again with everyone in it - EXCEPT Damien I'll post this here www.townsvillebulletin.com.au/article/2011/05/04/227961_news.htmlTownsville's Melanie joins Idol on Dancing with the StarsTHE LAUNCH of a new album and the birth of a third child doesn't give singer Damien Leith any lee-way in practice with Townsville-raised Dancing with the Stars partner Melanie Hooper. Hooper has been leading the Australian Idol winner through marathon six-hour dance sessions in an effort to get him to 'loosen up' and to swing his hips. With no dance experience, Leith said Hooper had been a tough taskmaster in helping him nail the basics. "She's taking no nonsense, she's fantastic but there's no room for moaning or groaning, it's get into it and go," he said. With the show less than one week away, Hooper said the Irish-born singer was starting to fill his dancing shoes. "He's fantastic, I've been giving him a bit of grief that he's too stiff and that he needs to loosen up," she said. "But he's getting it and keeps improving." Hooper returned to Townsville briefly last year after forging a career in Broadway and Europe, before moving to Sydney in the new year where the chance arose to audition for the reality TV show. Hooper said her latest role was demanding - on top of at least 20 hours of practice each week, she was responsible for the choreography of each dance, teaching Leith the moves and contributing to music selection and costume design. And despite years of success on some big stages, Hooper said her family, friends and former students were still excited to see her on television. "It means a lot to my family because all the years I've lived away now they can actually say 'my daughter, she's home and she's on television' and see me and it connects a bit more with people and the hard works paid off even more," she said. The pair hopes North Queenslanders will vote them to the top of the competition. The TV appearance may lead to a further collaboration, with Leith hinting the dancing partnership could be incorporated into his shows. "I've got a concert in Townsville in early November and you never know, if we stay in there long enough, Mel might be able to come up and we'll do a bit of a dance," he said. The new season of Dancing with the Stars premieres live on Sunday from 6.30pm.

Most of the promos I saw tonight were for Dan Ewing (Home and Away) plus the new reworked ad without Damien.
