another show added! Friday 4th November 11
Venue - The Palms at Crown, Melbourne, VIC Tickets From:Ticketek Tickets on sale Mon May 30 - www.ticketek.com.au Tel: 132 849To celebrate the release of Damien Leith’s acclaimed fifth studio album ‘ROY – A tribute to Roy Orbison’, Damien sets off on a National theatre tour. The album which was recorded in Nashville, Los Angeles and Australia and was executively produced by Roy’s wife Barbara Orbison features 14 classic Roy tracks including favourites like Crying, Pretty Woman and Only The Lonely.
Accompanied by a rocking five-piece band, Damien will take the stage to honour the talents of Roy Orbison. 'A songwriter extraordinaire' who changed the structure of songwriting forever.
“Roy said that at times he didn't like the 'Singer' Roy Orbison, as it often overshadowed the 'Song Writer' Roy Orbison, and he hoped that artists would get past his voice and get to the song, so that they could see a way to make his compositions their very own.” Barbara Orbison.
In Damien’s new album, ‘ROY – A Tribute To Roy Orbison’, he has done just that.
With soaring renditions of all Roy’s Orbison’s songs, this show is not to be missed. Not only will he sing the songs with the passion and emotion that audiences have come to expect from Damien, but he’ll also take you on a journey, sharing stories of his experiences in the creation of his wonderful new album and the honour to be celebrating Roy Orbison during the 75th anniversary year of one of rock n roll’s greatest contributors.
This show is not a Roy Orbison Concert. It is a salute to an amazing talent from one of his greatest admirers! Come join the celebrations! Mercy!

SQUEEEEEEEEEE! Hi, just back from Crown. This will be very short because we're all tired and need our sleep for the trip to Wangarratta tomorrow. Let me just say the once again the boys were stunning! D wore Teh Black Shirt of Hawtness tonight! Just what we'd hoped. Phwooooaaarrr! He's put some of the weight back on he lost on DWTS and is looking rather HAWT right now. Must mention that Eric is looking fine atm too and seems fit. We got to hear I Drove All Night tonight, as a change to last night's setlist, but Goodnight was omitted. Stairway to Heaven made an appearance- ;D Eric and D cracked up because they stuffed up the intro..A few of the boys had to dance tonight due to mistakes- D almost, as well..and yes, he broke ANOTHER guitar string and was felt up by Eric again! Bahaha! D, what the hell is happening? Ceasar's bum wiggle cos his wife was in the audience was a giggle! ..and we noticed that Chris makes hilarious faces up the back sometimes..and seems to be enjoying his own private jokes! He's a crack-up, as well as mighty fine keyboardist. D's voice was A.MA.ZING, the falsetto was firing to the max, as well as the lower regs (which are causing many women of my acquaintance to swoon!) I noticed D was wearing earpieces tonight, haven't seen him do that for a while. Sound was good, we were in the front, but maybe it was even better further back. The lighting was pretty spec tonight too. Roses on the walls and all sorts of colours and patterns. I was kicking myself that I didn't bring my big cameras, especially when D sang the two big ballads (In Dreams and Running Scared) with a hand mike. No mike stand, and close enough to touch! The banter flowed freely between D and Eric tonight, they shared quite a few jokes during the gig, lots of smiling and laughter. ;D The audience appeared rather a subdued lot in comparison to Bendigo last night, but during the major show-stoppers the silence was intense and reverent and the applause was loud afterwards. Perhaps we had a skewed perspective from where we sat, but not a lot of rockin out seemed to be happening, :-/but lots of head nodding was seen and many comments along the lines of "WOW, had no idea he was so good!" were heard Gotta sleep now. More in the morning...re Glawz's gift, being one thing to come.

I'm happy to let Trilly do the major reports as she does them so well. ;D ;)Thought I'd just let you know what happened with my little gift. Once again I baked some treats for D... Melting Moments and Chocolate Marshmallow kisses. D gave me the ideal opportunity to present him with the gift when he mentioned that he often receives 'gifts' from fans. Dawn, you'll be pleased to know that both at Bendigo and Palms he related the story about the 'nose warmer' he received previously. When I handed mine to him he asked if it was decent, and we said yes, and it was edible. After telling the story about the nose warmer he opened my gift and read out the label I had made, along with the 'MMWAHH! I'd included on the label under the "Chocolate Marshmallow kisses." "Made with love in Gloria's kitchen". I had included a card which he fished out of the bag and proceeded to 'read' the blank back of the card - "Dear Damien, you are ridiculously good looking" which of course he is but I hadn't actually written that!! I decided to add that comment to his FB page in case anybody was wondering what that was about. Damien has the knack of getting a laugh out of anything, even bloody biscuits!!! :lmao It was an awesome show with so many spine tingling moments - I think many people were just blown away by how bloody good he is, although the audience were a bit 'staid' - clapping, not cheering - there were quite a few loud 'man' whistles throughout the evening and Damien and the boys obviously fed off them, as well as our squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeing, clapping and cheering from the front row Have to say, quite a few people gave me some strange looks, but I figured I'd revert back to my REAL age soon enough! Tired today but will spark up at 8.00 tonight

Just had to mention that we had a lovely chat with the sweet and friendly Jess Chalker after the gig. She is such a gorgeous woman. We have all agreed that we particularly like her original song Said The Raindrop To The Seed. I decided to wind George up and ask him for a free tea-towel for us, since we've been such loyal fans. Not surprisingly, he looked amused! No Gloria as yet, but we're hoping it may make an appearance at the finale. ie Ballarat. We caught up briefly with Nixter and her daughter, as well as Kath and Starsis, so it was a decent DLO contingent last night. ;D One last thing. The band linked arms for the bow after Hallelujah, and then all charged forward, looking like bunch of matadors!
