Herald Sun 18/06/07 Confidential www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,21920868-5012974,00.html Idol Steps out DAMIEN Leith fans don't despair. We know it's been months and months since the father of two has been out and about entertaining the masses, but it's not long now. Following the birth of his dubiously named second son Jagger Ramone, Leith is preparing to release his new material. The Australian Idol winner played his new single, 22 Steps, live for the first time at the 20 Futures Fundraising Gala at the Sofitel on Saturday night. And 22 Steps will hit radio this month with the in-store release date scheduled for July 21. Leith's debut studio album isn't due out until at least September.

Jeez can't anyone get the dates right!! who do we believe! One minute it's 22nd June for the Single, and 29th July for the Album....and in one day that has all changed!!! The Today show said mid August for the Album..... and the Herald are saying 21st June for the single and September for the Album!! I'm not listening to anyone anymore! I'll just wait until I hear it on the radio or see it in the shops for myself! ;D

There is a slight hint of snark in that article, so I'm not believing much they're saying.

Kami I agree. I felt that while reading it too. I am sure we will hear the news directly from Damien or management soon anyway

22 Steps was not performed "live for the first time at the 20 Futures Fundraising Gala at the Sofitel on Saturday night". He sang it in Hobart.

True, Sel, but then it wasn't known to be the single..guess that was the first "Official" time..

Not so sure about that. I think the fact that everyone who went to the Hobart shows was requested not to upload their vids of 22 Steps makes it pretty clear that it has been planned to be the single for a long time.
But of course, if tagging it "official" last weekend meant more people threw in more cash for the fundraising, then I'm not going to quibble.
