Just had had a nice lunch in the pub. Gotta love country bistro prices! Time to chill before the plastic surgery!

KILLED IT STONE DEAD TONIGHT!!!!

We are stoked, blown away, on Cloud 96. The entire audience rose to their feet at the end and several times during the show! In Dreams and Running Scared plus the new double flute (quenas) of Beautiful were jaw-dropping!l

And just take it from us, so was the rest of the gig!!!

Things are starting to wind down now. We have a few big days ahead of us, so we're pacing ourselves. Time to finish the report on what was an amazing gig. I don't think I've heard D's lower and middle register sound quite as powerful and superb as it did tonight. Blew me totally away! His head voice, the upper reg before he hits the falsie is really brilliant too. The falsie is a little weak still atm, but honestly, we'd be the only people who'd notice!

This gorgeous old theatre in Bendigo has fantastic acoustics and the sound production tonight was heavenly! Best venue in that regard I think I've ever heard D sing in. The balance and the carry were awesome! Maybe some thanks is due to the sound engineer as well, because even from 3 rows from the stage the sound was dynamite!

The audience were an interesting mix of ages. Mainly grey-haired, but some youngsters present and a fair few thirty somethings. We were concerned at first that they would be quiet, but they soon warmed up and were singing along and clapping furiously by the end. .. Haha, even though the back half needed a time delay for their voices to reach the stage, according to Eric!

You Got It - I love this opener, it really sets the mood!
Only The Lonely- gorgeous.
Dream Baby - the half D version/half Orbison version is fantastic! Miss the rap though.
Love Hurts - adore the guys' version of this song. It builds beautifully and Eric just kills it.
Workin For The Man- gotta love the hip moves. Even if D thought they were substandard tonight! Haha!
Beautiful - Kath wrote ( she kept the setlist tonight)" from the haunting double pipes (Cesar and Steve played tonight) to Eric's gentle final notes- fabulous!" Couldn't agree more. This is a sensational version of possibly D's finest original. Adored it!
Night Of My Life - wow, a blast from the past and it was lovely. It was always a good song, which D takes to another level. Loved hearing it again.
Goodnight - man, the full band version of this thing is sensational!! Absolutely brilliant! Haha, when D announced it as being from RJ, a certain whistled loudly. The house lights were up and D said " ah, I know you! See those girls in that row they follow me all over the country! They are trouble!" with huge grin on his face. We loved it, of course! Stars is and Kath piped up fro the front row, and D said " You too!" haha!
In Dreams - Eric made the only comment which suits D's performance. At the end of the song, as the audience rose as one to their feet, Eric turned to D and said " man, you sang the shit out of that tonight!" It was gobsmacking! The power, the control, the range! Jayzus! Adored it!
Leah- holy mother! What a brilliant arrangement! Eric's flamenco at the beginning (Eric, just gotta hear you do more! That was stunning!) then the harmonies and the gorgeous song itself. I was in heaven!!
Running Scared - WOW!!! Cannot begin to explain how awesome this was! The depth and power in D's voice was amazing! He nailed it to the point that the crowd rose as
one to applaud!
Mean Woman Blues - just bloody adore this thing! It rocks MAJORLY!
Crying - lovely as per, but I think this is the one song I've heard sung better.
Handle With Care - wow! The audience loved this, and sang along. We clapped till our hands were red. Love this song so much!

Then, D and band left the stage. After thunderous applause, Steve returned and bashed out the most awesome drum solo I've heard in a while! Holy crap, he was on fire!

Pretty Woman! - so rockin, so much fun!
Hallelujah - man, just ensational as always. Love LOVE the gorgeous guitar solo which Eric is now playing. It's perfect! Right length, right mood and gloriously delicate.
They finished with Going Home, which I adore.


Oh, Eric "copped a feel" (His words!) tonight, helping D on with a new guitar, after he broke yet another string!! Bahaha!!!

One last comment. While D was singing Hallelujah, Eric got out his phone and waved it around, silently asking the audience to follow suit. I did the same with my iPad. Well, Eric saw it and started laughing... Then D saw it and cracked up, totally forgetting where he was in the song! It was hilarious, but I stress, not my fault! I don't have an iPhone!!!

So wonderful that D and the guys had another sellout performance and sure sounds like they're all having a terrific time....just like the audience did.

After seeing Damien at Mingara and the double pipes for Beautiful, I know exactly what you are talking about with how the song is evolving. It is just so.......beautiful and I always wished it had been released as a single.

I love the looooong note at the end of Running Scared and it sounds like this theatre was well suited to those sort of songs that ring out. So pleased to hear the audience appreciated the fine talent that Damien is and that the band were in fine form too.

There has to be something said about reports written on the night. They are so full of emotion and excitement that they do really take the reader into the concert themselves.

I loved it, I loved that Damien saw you there and made a comment, I loved that you were waving an ipad around (lots of light there) and I loved Princeys quick Facebook comment last night.

Thank you for another terrific report --- it makes me feel like I was there and straight away I get flashbacks to Dee Why especially with"Running Scared" with that ----P O W ER F U L L ending that gets the audience to react with deafening appreciation--The power in his voice is now unbelievable.

Meant to say that Jess Chalker supported D last night. Love her originals and her cover of *chortle* Vincent was gorgeous. Bought her CD. She also dueted Boo Bayou oops, Blue Bayou with D as well. Very pretty!!

Merchandise was moving last night..all by itself.. Nah, not really! Haha!
