O M G OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG BRILLIANT , what more can I say. I was a bit concerned about this show because it didn't appear to be selling like all the other shows have. Dee Why which is on tomorrow night was sold out a few weeks ago and all the other venues have been sell outs or as good as. Fear not ...................................the place was full. There were the odd seat here and there, so I guess it was about 90%+ full. Jess Chalker was the support again tonight and she sang really well and was well received. Quite often there is a lot of noise when a support act is on but in the case, people were listening and appreciating her singing. Most of the band were missing tonight and instead of Steve, Cesar and the organ player there were 3 replacements including a female on bass. Trusty Eric was there to help out. The female apparently got called in at the 11th hour. Dawn has their names. Dawn also has the set list which is pretty much the same as normal but no Leah tonight and I will leave it for her to tell you about the surprise element of the show. Let's just say the audience were in stitches. So funny and well received. Damien is a crack up and knows how to go with the flow. An absolutely wonderful part of the evening was when Damien introduced the song Beautiful and said how he had been inspired by his family around him and while he was singing it a gorgeous, radiant smile came across his face. No guess what had just happened. At the end of the song he said it was amazing because while he was singing it his wife had walked into the auditorium. The love that Damien has for Eileen and his children is so obvious and a joy to see. I had 3 people with me who had never been to a Damien concert before and 2 others who had been to one other concert. They all loved the show and were very impressed. The 2 who had been to an earlier show remarked on how Damien has fine tuned his stage presence from the last time. I might add though that the friend who made that comment had been to a concert where the bar staff were extremely noisy, dropping glasses, chatting away with each other and were generally very rude and disrespectful to the artist. It was a very hard gig to play and was a hard one to be in the audience. There was another nice moment prior to a song being sung which was a dedication but I will leave the details for the person to talk about it. Damien is having voice trouble at the moment. The general audience wouldn't have known that because he really was so good. Us seasoned concert goers knew. Damien changed the ending to Hallelujah because of his voice. It was very different and also Crying was different at the end. When we were leaving the Club we remarked to the door staff how great the concert was and both doormen told us that that is what everyone had been saying as they left. There was a bonus for us tonight with 2Damienfans being there also plus MrNuffy and Mr & Mrs Shims snr. It was lovely catching up with MaggieMay, Shims and b/f, Kazza, Michele, Dawn, 2 Damienfans and the Nuffys. Eileen was looking gorgeous as always and was there with her sister who was out from Ireland but is going back on Monday. She was thrilled that she got to see Damien in action before she flew back home. THANK YOU DAMIEN FOR A GREAT CONCERT.

Yo Ho Ho! I'm feeling pretty jolly after a FABULOUS night out!! Lovely lovely concert Damien! And to meet up with the other girls and guys is just great. Thanks for the report Braffy... Yes the setlist seems much the same wonderful songs but also a bit different to the Enmore one months ago. Wow time flies Damien's voice was wonderful throughout the show. But despite a fantastic[/b] version of both Running Scared and In Dreams (THE VOCAL GYMNASTICS SONGS )... hugely appreciated by the crowd!! by the end of the night there was the telltale slight huskiness creeping into even his speaking voice But you wouldn't really know anything was amiss because his less stressful versions (i.e. without the super-high notes) of Hallelujah and Crying were sung so smoothly as to sound like it was arranged that way - it worked and sounded good. If he gives his throat a good rest tomorrow I'm sure it'll be perfect again for Dee Why show But best moment was when he sang my favourite luuuuurve song Beautiful and I saw his face just suddenly light up and a smile beamed as he looked my way... ... oops! beyond me to the back door when Eileen walked through Lol. It was a nice shared experience of being 'in the moment' with our respective 'halves' (there can't be too many 's when I'm talking about Beautiful eek hubby's home now ... we travelled in separate cars and he'll be that I'm on here at this time Lol... I'll add to it later. But just wanted to say thanks for a wonderful night to Braffy, Shims, P, Maggiemay, Kazza, Michele, Dawn and it was great to meet your friends and families. Loved the catch ups before and after the show. btw... Dawn... I was just kidding about cementing over your yard (P will be relieved to hear this too)

Made me feel like I had been there, thanks so much Braffy and Nuffy. I'm concerned about D's voice - perhaps he's had a 'bug' which would not be surprising after his schedule, easy to pick up something, but forever the trouper.... he did what he had to do and that is to WOW the audience. Look forward to some photos now. Makes my weekend hearing of these wonderful shows.
