It will be well worth watching.
When we first arrived at the Domain Judith Durham was onstage singing. She left and we looked back up and Damien was there with Georgie Parker, Hugh Sheridan, Melinda Schneider and possible some other s but we only had eyes for one person
I think they rehearsed the final song of the evening. From memory they did two songs.
I don't want to say too much because this was the rehearsal and not the main show.
There was a bit of a gap with nothing appearing to be happening.
Then it started up again. The audience was quite large, but nowhere near what tomorrow night will be like. We all got good at counting down from 10 through to 1 as the countdown happened on the big screens.
The various performers came out then in the dress rehearsal.
When you see the kids come out as dancers check out a couple of very tiny but oh so cute little girls. they were adorable but they must have only been about 4.
Melinda Schneider wore the most beautiful dress. Looking at the big screen which was just above us to the left it doesn't appear on screen as nice as it was in real life. It still looked good but gosh it was stunning on her.
We waited, and waited, performer after performer. They were all good but we were there mainly for one person.
We were getting worried. Due to the distance that Dawn lives from the city she had to be on the 11.15 train and we knew we would have to leave the Domain by 10.30 to ensure that we would be at Central on time and to give us time to wash our hands
.
It was about 10.27 when Damien was introduced. I guess it is OK to say that he is NOT singing 'When A Child is Born'
Tania Doko is singing that. I'm sorry, but after listening to Damien's version of that over and over Tania's version is very disappointing.

We left as soon as Damien walked off stage. I can't tell you anymore so you will all have to watch it.
It was daylight when we arrived. We had foldup chairs so we sat on the left hand side of the stage near the fencing. When we saw Damien up on the stage with the others he was over on the right hand side so Dawn took herself over to that side to get some photos
. Damien saw her and they acknowledged each other. Dawn then pointed to where I was sitting and Damien looked over my way. I started
. It was lovely to get a ;D.
Dawn has some lovely photos and I have some too. When Damien was on we took some of him on the big screen. Photos will be tomorrow. Probably only Dawns will go up.
The weather stayed fine for it too.
