I do too, Bella. It is such an appropriate song for this occasion as well, when you realize that the lyrics are about a young man being missed by his wife (and missing her) after transportation as a convict to Australia for stealing corn to keep his young child alive during the Irish Great Famine. it's so sad, but such a beautiful tune. I hope D sings it at QPAC on St Paddy's day for you.

Reading the St Pat's day QPAC thread I saw that the violinist who wil be playing with the band then is called Lara Goodridge. I wonder if that was the same woman yesterday? Seems likely. Come to think of it, I think I recall D saying, "Go Lara!" during the gig. ;D

Finally got around to catching up on your show!! Thank you all for your reports, and so glad you were able to go Trills and enjoy yourself

Well... Better late then never.

I'm not gonna add much to Trilly's wonderful report either, but just wanted to say myself that is was a BRILLIANT! day indeed.

Honestly couldn't of asked for a better way to spend Australia day then see Damien, obviously.
I felt more Irish then I did Australian but that doesnt matter seeing as my background is English, Irish and Scottish! ;D

Damien was perfection as always. And still to this day I get butterflies and become spellbound at whatever he sings!
I had never heard him sing Parting Glass live before, so that was awesome! ;D And With Or Without You was the highlight for me, I freaking love it when he sings that!

Oh... and don't get too excited about me dancin dawnie! Just my luck being picked! GAWD
Of course the girls were pointing to me, YA SNEAKY TARTS!!!
It looks rather simple but in fact it's not I got used to it pretty quickly though, it was just awkward with a couple of people I had to dance with (really bad BO ) so yeah...
It was fun though! And I absolutely loved watching the Irish and scottish dancing, Irish in particular. Some of those little boys and girls WOWIE!!

Wow what a great day this sounded, fantastic venue for it too. So good to read all the reports from Melbourne, thanks to all of you for sharing the stories of the day. Absolutely loved the pics and your videos were great Di! Congratulations on your performance Debut (I think?!) at the the big Melbourne Bowl Krissy!
