Christine Sams, the reporter from the Sun Herald, truly has a history of glowing reviews of Damien Leith ;D Remember her Star City review? And she got to break the news on [ baby Jagger's name too. Obviously a lady of Very Fine Taste

Fantastic article, thanks for posting it Smiley and thank you to Hyp and Spud for the pics. I've felt like this about Damien since I first saw him and heard his wonderful voice. Same here Myst and lol, I was out half the night so that's why I wasn't here earlier - still snoozing & trying to get warm & cosy in this freezing weather this morning!!!

i recall, close to the beginning of Idol last year, DH handed me an article written in the Sun Herald by a female journalist saying how she had seen Damien at teh Basement and tipped him to win Idol because he was just blah i didn't get her name at the time, but i'm wondering if this is the same journalist - or if he has legions of female fans at the Herald offices

I also remember another article at the beginning of Idol where a female journalist in the Sunday Tele had seen Damien play at Balmain a while back and they were all going to go home at the end of their girl's outing when he set up and started playing - and they stayed and watched him for hours mesmerised by teh voice... (lucky!!!!). She also tipped he would be a wonderful winner.

Yes, Damien certainly seems to have friends within the Sydney media - that is a great article, and it's noticeable that Damien's profile is being kept in the public eye by regular articles or comments by Sun Herlad and Sydney Morning Herald journalists.
Of course, a cynic could say that he must have a great publicity agent, and there's probably an element of truth in that, but also I think that these journalists are like the rest of us and really took to a slightly older contestant in Idol, who some journos actually remember see playing in their favourite haunts in the inner west, who can actually sing and has brought back real musical talent over manufactured pretty boys and wailing wannabe divas.

Lovely to read this article - thanks for posting it!
He certainly has a way with the ladies, doesn't he!!! Maybe that's why Kyle missed it and Mark nearly did in the Idol audition - Marcia certainly didn't!!

AWW!!!! A song for Jagger - is that the title?? LOL. That is going to be too cute, just like a song for Jarvis What an incredible artcle, it was short, but it was oh so nice, Roxy - I think all we need to do now is slip in our forum addy and the reporter should be on their way haha. Thanks for bringing use the article Neski - here is the question I asked Damien last week and his response - Hi Damien – Wombat here! I absolutely adore “Song for Jarvis” and I’m so glad it is a B-side on the single. Have you been inspired yet to pen a “Song for Jagger”?
Hey there Wombat, Good to hear from you and yes, there is a new song on the album which at the moment is either called "I'll take you home", or "Not just for the weekend' and I wrote it two days after Jagger came home. I was just inspired by everything that day and having my growing family all sleeping in the living room made the lyrics easy to find. Can't wait to hear this one, and "I Still Miss Us" - damn I can't wait to hear the WHOLE album
