Hello
I'm back and not only am I back but TEH MAN IN BLACK IS BACK
Shiny black Tshirt, black jacket and black trousers
It was a fantastic night. This is the fist time The Outback Steakhouse has done this and they will continue to do it.
It is so special that Damien was asked to participate in the first one.
It was a charity night and the profits were going to the Nordoff Robbins Group and Music Therapy which is a terrific thing. I know a Community Nurse who often does music therapy with her clients and an elderly gentleman who hadn't spoken for a very long time started to slowly get his speech when she sang his favourite song from many, many years ago. His wife had tears in her eyes from the change it made to him.
Tommy Lewis, a South African was the first to perform.. He has sung at World Cup Matches and Nelson Mandela's Memorial service. He was easy to listen to.
Next up was Brittanie Shipway who was a contestant on this years The Voice. She had the 4 chairs turn around and she chose Team Kylie. She has a lovely voice and at the time I couldn't work out why she lost her Battle Round.
She really enjoyed performing tonight to her 'home crowd'. They loved her just as much.
Next, and finally Damien was on. Eric was with him. (I was over the moon )
SET LIST:
Damien admitted that they hadn't put a set list together.
You've Got It
Halfway Heart
He mentioned Joe Melson and working with him and how Joe hadn't written with anyone since Roy died.
Only The Lonely
Everybody's Talking (with audience participation)
Spoke of writing this song after Idol and Estee Lauder picking it up for the worldwide 'Beautiful' perfume promotion.
Beautiful
Crying
Without A Fight
Hallelujah
It was a shame that either I Can Stop You Crying or Faith In Me was not sung, especially after mentioning that they had been writing together but mostly it was a shame that You and I didn't get sung or mentioned as being a Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and being Highly Commended.
Damien, is still shy on promoting himself and his achievements.
I guess I should have sung out for him to sing it. Darn, why didn't I do it
Overall I think the organizers should be very happy with the guest artists and the audience and with the help of the raffles I am sure they made some nice money for Music Therapy.
