my son was 10pound 10 ozs and i am only 4 ft 11 3/4 inches tall Wow, lisard, I thought I was doing well at 5' ½" and a baby of 9lb 15! I will happily give you the trophy And I must be about the only person in the world who doesn't like looking at pregnant women. If I have to look at one more everted navel I think I will choke on my cornflakes I think being pregnant is a wonderful thing, the idea of a new baby is lovely, but I really don't think it looks good from an aesthetic point of view. *runs away quickly to avoid airborne missiles*

Its really funny how ads like that seem to just pop up in association with what we were talking about......remember that happening before? Isn't that because Google searches for keywords on the page and puts a relevant ad up? BTW, do babies grow heaps in the last couple of months? I remember at Hyde Park when I saw Eileen the Bump was way smaller than that and that wasn't even two months before ^ that photo ^ was taken. I was 2.495kg when I was born... dunno what that is in pounds.

Yes, it is exponential growth. That is why you don't usually see women walking around in the last few weeks - every day gets harder and harder! I was practically bed ridden with my third child (with a dodgy back it wasn't much fun). My babies were: 8lb 14.5 oz (1 week late), 9lb 2oz (2 weeks early), 8lb 5oz (3 weeks early), but were all short only about 50 cm long. When I had MiniDede (elective c section thank you very much I learnt my lesson after the first debacle) my doctor held her up she was wider than she was long with jet black hair looking like she was 3 months old already and Dr said "Well, that was a good decision!"

i went into labour with J on my due date but it took 48 hours before they finally decided to cut her out by emergency c-section. she was a pretty normal weight & quite long. i'm only 5ft tall and my pelvis is too small and tips the wrong way - so for 2 days her head was getting a thrashing against my pelvic bone.
anyway my bump was absolutely enormous with her & everyone thought i was having twins. when i had my 18 week ultrasound with M I was told she was unusually small. but my bump just got huge - i was bigger than with J. I had an elective c-section at 38 weeks and she was bigger at birth than J had been.
That last month is so uncomfortable

Okay well it probably wasn't much fun for you at the time but it made a good story to tell later on.

I am sorry to hear about your Dad passing away on your 50th birthday, that must have been terrible. My sister - in- law's funeral was on my 50th Birthday. I actually lost my mum on the 28th May, 1995 ( 12yrs ago) and I was thinking the other day that maybe little bump would be born on the 28th.

gosh all of this birth talk brings back memories!! Raiyne was born after 3 hours of labour she was 6lb 6oz. I had her on the toilet floor and my sister caught her just before she hit the tiles... I was screaming, my sister was choking on her own vomit and my mum was yelling she can't be born yet her dad isn't here!!
Talon was born after 23 hours of labour she was 5lb 4oz. After 12 hours i told the nurse to give me an epidural or i was gona cut her throat. Epidural in, i slept for 10 1/2 hours then woke up to the nurse telling me to push... after 1/2 an hour of pushing out she came. I was crying, my sister was nowhere in sight and my mum was again yelling... She can't be born yet her dad isnt here!!
oh the memories, it hurts like hell but is so beautiful.
and just thought i would share with you all that my sister is 5 foot 10 and had an 11lb 3oz baby.. OUCHHHHH, and she had him toatlly natural! i must also point out that she has 6 kids!!

Gorgeous photo, and she looks ready to go to me. The doctors don't usually let Mums go more than 14 days over so should be 30th May at the latest. I agree with you andy, the 30th of May will be induction day if Bump doesn't decide to make the journey on his/her own. I don't know how many times I've heard of women who are overdue and have been given their induction date only to go into labour unassisted a day or two beforehand. Come on Eileen.
