Damien's original song, "NOT JUST FOR THE WEEKEND" from the new Album "Where We Land" (on sale Aug 18) is available as a timed download from Today's Sunday Telegraph. Here's a home for discussion about this new song! From the 'Track by Track' with Damien Leith Not Just For The Weekend I wrote this song right after my second son was born. We just arrived home from the hospital and were all exhausted, as my family fell asleep in the lounge, I felt so content and happy, I had to put it down so I grabbed my guitar and the song came freely.

It's TWINKLY! I'm listening to it again right now, isn't it great! At 2:22 it sounds like part of Damien's version of Tenterfield Saddler. And at the start it sounds a bit like Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

I don't mean to sound like a wet blanket, but I think I need a few more listens to get into this one. I know it's for Jagger, but I just don't hear it - perhaps cos I know he can't actually walk I dunno, I expected it to be more stripped-back like Song for Jarvis. Maybe I need to listen to it again...

Even though I know the sentiment behind this song, i.e. Damien's overwhelming love for his new son, I think it could be applied to anything in someone's life. It is a lot like Crowded House in melody with Damien's own unique voice shining through. I know this may sound weird but when I listen to this, I have a vision of finding an abandoned puppy and taking it home. Well I'm not going to be having babies at my age! Seriously though, NJFTW is pure magic and it is stuck in my head. Always a good sign.

I like it a lot more now, though I played it today to my mum and she thought it was very romantic until she found out it was for Jagger, not Eileen It's starting to grow on me I have to say. I like this one a bit more than "I Still Miss Us".
