105.7 The River Interview

Well.....what a great interview this morning on 105.7 The River with Lu and Matt. It was half an hour, with 2 songs played ( yeah more than I have ever heard) 
? Handle with Care and 22 Steps. But his new impromptu song was brilliant too. Lu and Matt put out a challenge to Damien.....they got everyone to come up with a word (single word) and I think the best were picked out...or a selection of a few for Damien to put in a song. Well ....TANGAMBALANGA is now on the map, mentioned in the song . Check out FB The River 105.7 page.
When master 10 and I started listening to the interview the phone rang ....
it was DH and important....but I told him I had to ring him back .....D was on air....gotta get your priorities right hey 
Damien spoke of the play, they put part of the play on air...a funny part about the size of spiders which I won't spoil for those that have not seen it. Spoke about the roles in the play...was that his Dad....answer no....nothing like his Dad.
Spoke about different accents, both here and in Ireland........the rest is a bit of a blur as I was so excited and trying to take it all in.
At the end of the interview Lu mentioned to Damien that it was her 50th birthday last year and that she received one gift that she thought was unique, but that she treasured......a signed copy of Chapter Seven from a big country fan called Maria...who dropped it in to the radio station.......well I can't rember any of the conversation after that really......
Just before 8am they hove Louise Arnold on from Arnold's Fruit Market, she had submitted the word permison which D put into the song....she mentioned in her fruit and vege add how great the interview was and that she loved Damien.......fantastic publicity and promotion.
The River also replayed the impromptu song.....in case anyone had missed it. I hope they replay it again .....which I think they will.
Also there was mention of the song going to YouTube.....I think Glawzy is going to check this out when she has time.
Realisation after this interview was that D was on other local radio stations today. DH mentioned when I rang him back that he heard something on 104.9.......?. What was it I said....oh some sort of Damien interview.......good on YA DH! Also 2AY had an interview as well......I may be able to look up the transcript for 2AY. I know I have done previous interviews for a Redundancy Support Group I was involved in....and there was transcript after the interview to read.
Great publicity and promotion happening here locally....more than I have ever seen before...it is great. Hoping for sellout shows here locally ......fingers crossed!
Oh and I have just opened up our local paper the Border Mail.....another coronary he is in it too! Will post the story later.

Wow Plugz, that sounds like terrific PR for Damien all round. hehe 
wonder who that was who gave Lu the signed Chapter Seven 
. How wonderful that the radio stations were keeping Damien busy and plugging his show. Thank you so much for writing up your record of what went on

ticket sales down. There were still 19 to 20!seats left in smaller theatre...actually 1 less as I booked another ticket for a friend who said.....I heard the interview and song....had no idea how good he was and how clever 
. Hoping the publicity from the radio will get a few people booking late...I think it will.
