Hi Damien,

I fell in love with your voice from Day 1 and knew you would win from the very first moment I heard you sing.

You have carried yourself in a very dignified manner throughout the entire show and your Mum and Dad must be incredibly proud of that. You are a gentle, honest, unassuming young man who I believe has an enormous future in the music industry, not only here, but internationally.

The following are some of the comment I made very early in the series and they pretty much got better every time I watched you perform. In the four years I have been a fan of Australian Idol I have never looked forward to a contestant coming on each week like I did you.....

Damien Leith - The Irish guy, what a beautiful voice and I loved the fact he was so relaxed and true to himself.

Damien Leith - Brilliant, looked fantastic in his blue shirt and loved the long cuffs, showed some style. My first chill!! Fantastic!!

I loved every one of your performances but the ones I loved the best were in order of preference....

I have said pretty much the same thing from the begining too..I just love this guy...he is amazing and I'm so glad he won Idol
It's the first time I have really liked someone this much from a tv series......and omg he won too ...my favs don't usually.

I love the whole concept of Idol ... so far I managed to pick three winners, they were Guy that was easy then I went Anthony so I blew it that year, then Kate last year and now Damo but out of all the contestants no one come close to Damo.

I luv Guy and Nollsy but my gut tells me Damien is something very special and I'm sure in the next few years he'll prove me right YEHAA!!

I agree tho, it will be hard to beat Damo - he is something else. This is the first year I have gotten into a forum. Have never been on the Idol forum and don't want to after reading your comments. Hi Wombat,

My comment was more through frustration than anything else.
Apart from this year the Forum was great over there, you got the odd Trolls but the Mods dealt with them pretty quickly....unfortunately that hasn't been the case this year, but I'm hoping next year will be a different story.
The mods have to be given complete power of the Forum or it just won't work, it must have been incredably frustrating for them this year. Since they took away the Edit button the numbers have dropped drastically and I'm sure they will take all that into consideration next year .... I'll be going back as long as its moderated properly or I'll find elsewhere to chat.

I sort of missed the 1st Idol - my husband watched it and wanted Guy to win, but I was too busy with a baby who refused to sleep. On Idol 2 i liked Chanel and got hooked on the forums - the trolls were so nasty to her. Last year I tried to watch from the sidelines and not get involved - but by the end I was hoping Kate would win. This year husband and I picked Damien from the start and he is without a doubt The Best (imho) - I just love 'im

Thanks mate I remember Chanel, she always dressed a little different didn't she, I always thought she would go further but she let her emotions get the better of her, and if i remember rightly the Forum back then upset her too.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Pops. I fell in love with his voice from the auditions, and also with the way he responded to certain people's criticisms. Need one for Kyle!!! I don't know how he held himself together in the early days. It says a lot about his character. Of course, his talent always came through, especially after he went back to doing things his way and disregarded the judges.
BTW, loved Chanel as well, but not like Damo.

Yeah - I agree - I loved Chanel because she has a pleasant voice, but also because she was a bit left of centre and refused to conform. In hindsight I think that was her undoing - she laughed off constructive criticism and didn't grow at all - a bit immature. Damien on the other hand also started off strong but has just grown from week to week. Chanel & Damien are a league apart now
