A message to Damien's family

I know there is already a dedicated thread to the beautiful Eileen but after reading an article in the Echo I wanted to send my own "thank you" to: Eileen, Mrs.Leith, Aine and little Jarvis (not to mention all the Leith gang back in Kildare).
Excuse me if I travel on the side of corny, but I hope the sentiment detracts from that. Put simply I wanted to say "thankyou", for allowing the world a glance at magic. Damien is a very rare find; he sings with his soul and conviction-there is a strange kind of majesty at work. However, aside from the wonderful depths of creativity and sincerity, there is something much stronger that keeps me backing the "Dark Horse" (seeing as he’s from Kildare instantly made me think the Curragh. Understand the reference, but there you go). Perhaps it is the spirited personality, of a young man who is so comfortable with who he is (in every facet) but can still accept the need to grow/learn...his obvious adoration of his family, the ability to laugh at himself, or the fact that he gives back as good as he takes. I'd say these are kind of typical Irish behavioural qualities (my mam and dad always taught us "you have a brain and a mouth, use them") but that wouldn't be giving credit where it's due. Mrs. Leith, Aine, and Eileen & Jarvis you have a wonderful son/brother/husband/dad, and the love you hold for him/vice versa seems to nourish his soul.
By the way Mrs. Leith (sorry I hope that's not rude, but as you are Damien's mam it kind of feels weird to address you by first name) and Aine, hope you have a wonderful stay in Australia- looks like the weather's clearing up t.g. Eileen, it's always a delight seeing you in the audience getting right into the performance and beaming with pride.
Take care and please excuse the silly randomness of this.
