Hi Damien, My computer crashed, plus I had trouble signing on the DLO forum (thx for help Neski!), so I missed out on joining the other forum members in planning your citizenship gifts & signing the concertina card but I wanted you to know how happy I am that, by all accounts, it turned out wonderfully and you all enjoyed it so much. This is the first time I've ever joined a net forum for fun and certainly the first time in my 60 years to join a fan club of any type (2/official DL & DLO), but you deserve to be my first! It's good for my character to focus on unconditional love - - and there are lots of people in our world who make that *very easy* for me and you've joined that contingent! I'm so looking forward to your performance on the concert tomorrow night! We don't know how many songs you are singing yet but we are all hoping it is more than one. However I'll somehow content myself with one if that's all it is to be. I miss seeing you on TV thus I hope you are invited to many shows in the future (I see you are to appear on Spicks & Specks again in a couple of months! ). I've bought your single, TWJ and even bought the Idol 12 just so I could get you singing 'You Are So Beautiful! I love everything of your own and everything you've covered! Now I'm waiting for your next single and album. I'm so happy for you. Lovingly, Leithal Dame (a.k.a. Tesa) PS: By the way, I posted a birthday greeting to you in the official forum

Leithal Dame: welcome to the board! I fully agree with all your sentiments. Damien: all the best of luck for Thursday evening! It'll be an emotional night for you, Eileen and Jarvis, and I know you'll be fantastic! I can't wait to see you doing 'Tenterfield Saddler', and maybe a couple of other songs! Cheers, EVAN

Hi leithaldame I did enjoy reading your message to Damien as it reminded me of myself. Like you I am of the older generation and although I have been a member of this forum since November, apart from one posting which I made last November, I have been rather shy at taking part in the various discussions. I have been a regular 'lurker' and have enjoyed keeping up-to-date with everything that is Damien. My two daughters think it is hilarious that their 60+ mother is besotted by everything Damien, even though they too are following his career with keen interest. Like me they ran up their telephone bills lodging votes for him during Australian Idol. Now that I have taken this step I hope to make more contributions to the various threads. Incidentally, I live in Canberra and I would love to go to the concert tomorrow night and see Damien for myself, but I hate crowds and you would have to be very lucky to get a position in the front, so like most people I will content myself with watching the event on TV. My name is also Eileen, so you can see why I have chosen not to use this on the forum.

Hi Erin, Glad you have joined me in posting. I don't think we are alone in our age group for admiring Damien. Since I joined the official damien forum and this one, I've read back a bit and it seems that there are quite a lot of mature people who love Damien. My grandson (10 YOA) loves him also. His fans run the gamut of age groups which I think is as it should be where art is concerned. Damien is such a beautiful artist/singer with a beautiful nature to boot! I have loved music all my life, however, even as a young woman, I never felt the need to support anyone in quite this way before. It's a very new experience which I'm enjoying. I would go to see all his performances but I'm disabled and unwell so it's out of the question for now. I content myself with playing TWJ at least once daily along with You Are So Beautiful from the Final 12 DVD. I also love Come to Me and These Days. Lovingly, Tesa

There are people of all ages on this forum: I'm 37 years old. It goes to show that Damien appeals to so many! And, feel free to ask Neski or any of our other moderators/long time regulars for help - you are made to feel very welcome here.

Way to go Damo!!! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, Eileen, Jarvis and #2! I just saw your interview with Angela Bishop and a snippet of you singing Tenterfield Saddler! I am sooooooooo looking forward to tonight!!! In my head there are no borders but I really appreciate your desire to become an Aussie like your wife and children. I love it that you are a dual citizen. In the depths of our being we live in a world without borders already. One day we'll all come home to that. Lovingly, Tesa (a.k.a. Leithal Dame)

Congratulations Damien! You get a special green version of the banner! Sorry about the date Hope you get to spend tomorrow with family after the craziness of today! It's brilliant that you're a citizen, it was great to see you getting into the spirit and having a good time in Canberra! Your ceremony was lovely, so heartfelt. It's obvious that this isn't something you've taken lightly, and it means a lot to you. We are honoured to be connected to you through our nationality, and proud to call you an Australian!

The ceremony was so moving - what a beautiful way to become an Aussie. I hope you loved it Damien and that you'll always feel just as much at home here as in the place of your birth.
