...or, failing that, Hard
Rain's Gonna Fall or Knockin On Heavens Door...or.... eek! SO many great songs!
A new Cohen song I'd love is Suzanne...*siiigh*

Damien, I really love the songs you've penned but if you've written any of the "Bigger Plan" style - I'd love that.... actually will you please play "Bigger Plan"?... and songs with gorgeous intros and lyrics like "The Long Way Back" like how you did it on the What You Want special.

I would love to hear Damien sing John Denver's "For You"...the song he wrote for his second wife, Australian Cassie. A friend of mine sang that to her husband at their wedding, it is sooo beautiful.
Love the Lyrics:
Just a look in your eyes again
Just to lay in your arms
Just to be the first one always there for you
Just to live in your laughter
Just to sing in your heart
Just to be everyone of your dreams come true
Just to sit by your window
Just to touch in the night
Just to offer a prayer each day for you
Just to long for your kisses
Just to dream of your sighs
Just to know that Id give my life for you
For you for the rest of my life
For you all the best of my life
For you alone, only for you
Just to wake up each morning
Just to you by my side
Just to know that youre never really far away
Just a reason for living
Just to say I adore
Just to know that youre here in my heart to stay
For you for the rest of my life
For you all the best of my life
For you alone, only for you
Just the words of a love song
Just the beat of my heart
Just the pledge of my life, my love, for you _______________________________________________________________

oh oh oh! There is ONE song that I would just ADORE Damien to sing, as I think he is probably one of the few male voices that have the range and emotion to sing it. Its a lovely lovely song by Mary Fahl, an Irish singer who was lead for October Project before going solo. Here is the YouTube video of the clip of the song for those who are interested:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yVyo5Ej8NsAnd here are the lyrics: sooooo lovely ..
They say there's a place
where dreams have all gone
They never said where
but I think I know
It's miles through the night
just over the dawn
on the road that will take me home
I know in my bones
I've been here before
The ground feels the same
though the land's been torn
I've a long way to go
The stars tell me so
on this road that will take me home
Love waits for me 'round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And I'll know what I've lost
and all that I've won
when the road finally takes me home
And when I pass by
don't lead me astray
Don't try to stop me
Don't stand in my way
I'm bound for the hills
where cool waters flow
on this road that will take me home
Love waits for me 'round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
and all our troubles will be gone
And we'll know what we've lost
and all that we've won
when the road finally takes me home

My favourite Peter Frampton song - Baby I love your way. Damien would sing this brilliantly. *sigh*
au.youtube.com/watch?v=BmjFk7i4hygI love Dylan's Lay Lady Lay and I can imagine Damien singing this. He would have you all melting into the floor if he did.
I'm not a Dylan fan although he has written some brilliant music including the now classic Mr. Tambourine Man.
Another artist I would love to hear Damien cover at some stage is Harry Nilsson. He's put out some beautiful music in his time and Damien would certainly do it justice.
Harry Nilsson - Everybody's Talkin'

au.youtube.com/watch?v=EaEoBs4SNeY&feature=relatedHarry Nilsson - Without You (live).
au.youtube.com/watch?v=8mbaquq3txs&feature=relatedHarry Nilsson - Lime in the Coconut. (Can't help but dance to this one whenever I hear it.
