Just saw this at Behind Idol..(sorry if already posted)
The Idol 2006 winner's single, Night Of My Life, has debuted at #1 on the Austereo Radio Hot 30 countdown.
Released in stores today, Damien's single has kicked I Don't Feel Like Dancing by the Scissor Sisters off the top spot.
The Hot 30 chart is constructed using votes by members of the public via the website and phone services.
Night Of My Life is expected to have similar success on the ARIA Charts later this week.
YEEEHAAAAAAA...GO DAMO!!!

Hey that's great (although I do admit that kicking Sandi Thom off the top spot would have given me a tad more satisfaction, aaargghh that song!). Also, does anyone know if we can vote for multiple songs? Already voted for NOML but was thinking of requesting Come To Me. Presumably they'll play a B side, and it's the one I prefer.

Well, at least you can be happy he's pushed Sandi Thom down a spot.  This is great news! These radio voting things and charts confuse me a lot, of course, but what I do know is that a lot of people are hearing Damien now, and that's always good. |

Yay!!! I went running into my third store today, looking for the single, ran frantically into the 2nd KMart I'd been to today...and saw him looking down at me from the #1 slot on the shelf! I was grinning like a fool!
I'm so proud of him! Our baby has gone off into the big wide world and become a success! Congratulations!!!
