I agree with the video. I'm personally cool with it being taken but at the same time would rather it not get posted (simply because I saw it later that night and my butt is fricken huge from behind) But the picture is what's bothering me. I'm pretty sure it was Bella who requested it get removed at first (if there have been others I'm not aware) - So Bella if you're reading this don't take it as an attack. I had a chat with you and think you're lovely, but we were all having a good time and it was pretty clear we were getting the big "Sydney Damienites Photo" in that shot so to be in it then request it not be posted it just ridiculous. We may as well have not taken a photo at all if that's the case. Carla ( ) I do understand what you're saying and have requested photos of me in the past not get posted because I look shocking, but it's this particular photo that's bugging me. Little Hut photos are different because they're random, but this was taken -in my eyes- for the forum. So we should be able to share it with the forum.

I can also understand both sides of this but I agree with Oz, that the group photo should be posted. I felt uncomfortable posting photos of myself after the Canberra concert, (hair a mess, double chins I didn't know I had etc. ) but what the hey, who cares? I'd feel really sorry for anyone who would sit and study someone's photo and pick them to pieces. Gawd, get a life. If I can help out in any way by editing the faces of the people who don't want to be included in the group shots, let me know. I can simply blur their faces, or add the tart smiley over their face, or simply blot them out altogether. Oz, I know that you can also do this but I'm not sure of your time constraints. Anyway, I'm happy to help if needed.

Thanks Myst for volunteering .......if you could just wipe off a few kilos from my backside, and make my face look like Elle McPherson then that would be good. Anyway I dont mind being posted up to the secret thread...its only us .......so hey go for it........I know I look like a loon in most of them. Most of the time I was like or or and didn't have time to pose........

I feel the same, most of my pics that end up in the C&A are shockers but amongst friends there in private I don't mind at all for the big group pics - if I really don't like one of mine once they are up I will ask to be blurred out of it but at least that way it will still be able to be seen by everyone so perhaps that is an idea that could work? Then for big group pics we'd only have to send them to those on the list first who definitely want to be asked permission first and it would make it simpler to organise, and anyone else could say once posted if they didn't like how they looked - oh my God, blurr me out of that one, please! ? Hopefully that might be a solution to it all? as it's so hard for everyone to be happy in such big pics. 99% of the time I hate my pics too, so I think we all know how it feels and don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable. If the mods are happy with this sort of idea, maybe there could be a list in C&A we can refer to who we should definitely ask permission first, then that will narrow it down and be easy for everyone? Thanks so much Mysterri and Oz and anyone else who can help with editing! OzBrat I wish I'd thought to look at the video now when everyone was passing it around the Hut! - I was too to take in and never saw it.

Re posting reports - I've posted mine from Swoon City in C & A. Braffy asked me to copy it into Fan Encounters, so I was going to do that, but now I'm wondering whether it belongs in Appearance Alert or Fan Encounters?
Also, with the photos - isn't the point of taking a photo so that you can look at it later?

I want to put forward my point of view, as one of the DLO gang who could not make it to Sydney for the concert, and probably won't be able to in the future either. It's hard not to feel a little marginalised and not part of the fun, because I wasn't there to share the experience. When photos exist of the whole group, it would make a huge difference to people like me if they could be posted. I understand people not being happy with how they look at times, I've certainly had that experience myself many a time, however if they really object, they could be edited out as suggested by Mysterri above. I think if group photos or videos were only shared amongst those who were there, it would make those of us not included feel very left out. I know that there are many members in my position, including those in Ireland who are unlikely ever to join in events in Australia, plus those in other states. While DLO exists because of Damien, part of the fun is being part of the group, and photos being shared amongst all faithful members would maintain a group atmosphere, and not lead to people feeling isolated. I also agree with Ozbrat, that by joining in a group photo, you are giving your tacit approval to having it posted. If you don't want that to happen, probably best not to join in the photos. Well, those are my thoughts.

I didn't get a group shot taken because I assumed they would be posted in the members section and thought the group were posing long enough (when all we wanted to do was crack up) but would be happy if people who didn't want to be in it to be blurred/edited. I would love a group shot as it was such a special event and so many made a long trip to be there.....awesome I think! Thanks for the offer Mysterri.....eerrrrr could you please take about 40 yrs OFF the blonde in front kneeling tah much appreciated

Also, with the photos - isn't the point of taking a photo so that you can look at it later? Spud, definitely post your report to the Fan Encounters thread as Braffy suggested. That way Damien and his family also get to read it. I feel that the C & A thread is first and foremost for those of us organising our meetings for the relevant concerts and secondly to post the more private information relating to these concerts. I'm always very aware of trolls visiting DLO and I'm none too happy with my private reports or photos being available to them. I also think that the passwords to the private forums should be changed on a more regular basis.

I would like to put my ideas forward. Re the video: The way I read it. It was NEVER going to be posted on the forum. It would be Nuffys private video and she was going to contact the people that were in it to offer them the link to be able to see it. The link wasn't to be passed around to anyone else.
Re the photos: I think the group photos should be shown in the password area. You can have a bag put over your head (It has been done before), but that particular group photo had many cameras going off at once so not all are going to be caught in the 'right' moment, but many will and I think most people would understand that.

Well, those are my thoughts. Well said Tina, I agree with everything you've said. We're not here to win any beauty contests or try to outdo each other (Gawd forbid!) We are all beautiful in our own way and like it or lump it, we're stuck with what we've got. you girls are a crack-up. GJ, I could transform you into Elle if you want but I feel you are so much more real than her. Dawn, I'm not going to shave any years off you. You are gorgeous just the way you are. I was a photographic model and also an in-house model for Myer many years ago and I hated every minute of it! I was so glad to get out of that scene and get back into the real world. Although I wouldn't mind Elle's bank balance, clever girl that she is. Let's forget the vanity for a moment and think of what Damien went through during his audition. He was told he was butt ugly and an ugly bastard. He was told that he had tick-tack teeth. He was compared to Val Doon-a-oon-a-oon-ikan and should be wearing a cardigan. What did Damien do? He rose above all the negativity and was eventually listed as one of the 12 most beautiful people of 2006. It's what's inside of you that really makes you beautiful and you can't buy that over the counter. Just be comfortable in your skin and with who you are.

I couldn't agree more , Mysterri everyone in these pics knows each other and the point is to celebrate our being together and the happy memories Tina I love seeing all the great group pics and agree it is such a special thing for not only those in it, but for those who weren't there so they can feel part of it.

Hey there everyone, I'm posting this in the Question for Mods thread and the Nov 3 Concert thread: Sorry to have made anyone feel intruded by the videotaping during the backstage meeting after the Nov 3 Saturday night concert. Some people are unhappy about their inclusion. I cannot delete anyone from this 5 minute video so there will be no uploading. It's great you have your pictures and memories. I got chopped out of my picture so at least I have something else. Sorry also if anyone wants to get a copy of the vid personally. I can't do that either because (1) I don't have the means and (2) it's not fair on others. Finally, sorry I brought it up in the first place ... an innocent and naive mistake I've quoted myself here because I want everyone to understand that I already withdrew my offer of the video under all circumstances. Plus, I was never going to make it available without consultation. ...It's a good thing to have this discussion now because there will be other occasions when groups will happen again. We should be follow the etiquette/rules for privacy and safety from the trolls out there. So, let's clarify what and how things are done when we're a group and back in the forum. A suggestion for the recent group photos, I'd be okay with me being visible in all group pictures if they are posted in a secret thread for: (a) just the 25+ participants, and (b) those other members with a certain level of current activity with the forum Over there, the 25+ can view and take personal copies of their favourite picture and maybe we can take a vote to see if everyone actually doesn't mind one going to a password protected section (or not). That's my thoughts on the photos. Anyway, I hope this doesn't spoil the fun we've had and that we will have with all the concerts. Edit note:... The sentences I removed were about my feelings and not quotes from other members. I deleted them because they were hurting the forum. Nuffy

I totally agree, Tina. It's so difficult being so far away from you all, and I know that I probably won't ever get to meet most of you, or be part of anything like one of D's concerts. I love coming on here and reading about all of the different events and seeing the pictures of all of you. It doesn't matter what we look like in the pictures, they're natural and they show the happiness of the occasions. We're all friends here, we don't look at the pictures to criticise or point out what's wrong with them. I don't mind any of my pictures being posted, even though I look awful in most pictures taken of me! So.. I don't really see a problem with posting the pics in the C&A, and if anyone is unhappy, they can be edited out of it BTW, I saw some of the pictures before they were deleted and honestly, you all looked great - they really showed how much fun you were all having

I totally agree. You must know if your getting in a group photo that people want it posted in the secret thread to share? I don't like my photo taken cause I usually look shite but I don't care if it's posted cause no one's really gonna focus on me.....unless i'm doing my nudie run

I think the general consensus here is that photos can be edited before being posted. Thank you Myst for your offer (kind as always!), however I just want to stress again that my beef here is with this one particular Sydney group photo. I'm all for editing -you all know that!- but I'm saying this group photo SHOULDN'T NEED IT. Why would you stand in a group photo like that and then request that it be hidden or edited? Do the editing yourself by stepping OUT of the shot like other ladies did on the night! My apologies again if this seems like a personal attack on anyone. I'm more frustrated than anything I think. Also Nuffy, no one here has suggested your actions were "sinister, rude and selfish" (unless you've been getting PMs about it??) - I've read all the responses and have taken from them that everyone would rather the video not be posted but that's it. I'm not sure anyone looks down at you for recording it in the first place? I certainly don't mind!
