POh - can't we just sweet talk them and ask them to provide us a mpeg file of it after its broadcast??? They posted on here telling us they were very important in supporting Damien (*doesn't doubt this*) so that way we get the best quality recording for all.
And given that Damien will have flown out of the country back to Ireland for some time, there may be some die hard fans feeling .... lost without him.
*shudders*

It was just on from about 6pm til now and I'll try to remember what was said - I'm in Sydney but the reception was like trying to pick up Siberia on shortwave! Anyway, a lovely little piece - Damien said "Funtarstic" a lot ;D He was asked what he thought of the Warringah and Blacktown instores and said he wasn't sure who would turn up etc but then was so pleased at seeing the fans and how great it was to play some tunes to his audience. About the upcoming album - D hopes to release it in March and is going through his songs he's writen to see which "make the grade" and then will try to combine that with co-writes to make a very "original sounding" album. He was also asked whether he'd record with Jess sooner or later and said that one day he'd love to and that she had an amazing voice but for now it was important they both find their particular styles so this would be something to do once they'd established their own identities more, but something he'd definitely like to do one day. Regarding listener questions, one wanted to know his influences and he said Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Neil Finn, Tim Finn and also Sinatra - they are many and varied, many more and some he likes to sing, some he likes to listen to. Another asked what he'd do if he hadn't won Idol and D said that he'd probably be in his job and continue to be gigging around town but also writing lots. Asked about the big Idol Grand Finale, Damien said it was so amazing coming in from the red carpet to the huge welcome and onto stage, very emotional. He remembers how huge it all was and everyone's reactions and he'll never forget it. Finishing up the host said he'd be very welcome to come back any time to co-host the show or play some acoustic and Damien said he'd love to after he comes back from Ireland and that he was very thankful to all the regional stations who supported him That's about it I think
