Wow... they certainly decided to save the best for last, didn't they? (Actually I don't know whether Damien was last or not... having seen him *coughandTeddyGeigercough* I'm happy... the rest of that pile of sleaze can go ****** the **** ****** ....) Loved the intro from Nathan and Fuzzy. At least they got people to introduce him who could actually pronounce his name properly.

They said something about watching Australian citizenship ads, and then in the one segue of the night that didn't sound like it was being read off a cue card, went into how Damien was an Irish chemist and in a rock band, and how he was a really nice guy... only they said it much better than that, sorry.

That show was excruciating. To think that I nearly went to it. Thank goodness I didn't and if Damien had dbeen left til last today then I would have been throwing up somewhere. Who do these overseas acts think they are? They are not funny. They have no right meddling with our Government policies and making remarks about our Prime Minister and calling him Johnny. What would they say if someone from this country wanted to go to theirs with the sort of criminal charges and record that Snoop Dog has? I loved Damiens performance but I was so pleased to turn it off after he had finished.

I'm assuming they made it sound....interesting? Thanks Kami

Interesting... yes, that was probably the key difference. My thoughts exactly on the tastefulness of the whole proceedings, Braffy. Whatever Snoop Dogg may or may not be now, the rules shouldn't be any different for him than for any other person. I don't personally believe he's a threat of any kind, but we don't need people in the country who act like they're somehow above the law. Not even going to comment on the quality of some of those other acts. The guy performing that falling leaves song (hope he was one of "theirs" and not one of "ours") sounded like he was about to spit a furball any second. Oh, wait, I'm not supposed to be commenting...

Just finished watching the American MTV Awards Somehow they couldn't even find an Australian to do the voice over and the Shannon and Guy fans would not be happy since they were both completely cut out. I'm surprised they kept Damien in, he was the only Australian act on. I've got the whole lot taped but I'll be deleting all but Damien's part. I'll put it up on my site soon with the intro for those who want to hear it Apart from being terrible singers most of the presenters were hopeless too. I don't know how anyone could sit in the crowd for the whole show And Damien went to the after party, is he ok?

Silverchair's performance was pretty good. That song has won me over so much that I think I'll buy the single. Did not think too much of that little discussion that went on before the performance though. I frankly could have lived without thinking about either of those two guys losing their virginity.

Damien said in his most recent newsletter: "There was such a good vibe backstage and all of us joined in on the party afterwards." Sounds like he had a good time.

Yes, but Damien is such a charming and well brought up person, he isn't likely to say 'they were a complete bunch of tossers and I couldn't wait to get home' is he? I watched Pink and that was enough overt sexuality for me on free TV. I only watched that in fast motion until she did the bit in the air - my DH wanted me to see it

I guess so. Or maybe he just really enjoyed hanging out with other musical people (even though he's way better than all of them).
