Hya Damienities, ermmmmm bit confused, watched my dvd the other day, very happy was I, but today on the way to work & back again, was listening to the C.D. (from the journey c.d. dvd pack) and at first thought I was imagining it, but there is definately something wrong, the volume goes up and down, fades in and out, sometimes you can hardly hear anything, then it goes heaps loud, now Im thinking ermmm maybe this is why it was sooo cheap (only 20 bucks) its the songs from the actual show (with clapping etc.) it sounds like a real bodge job.
Heres hoping no-one else's is the same and I have been unlucky and got a lemon one.
Would be interested to see if other Damienites have found the same with their C.D. from the Idol Journey.
Ermmm now wheres that receipt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I have the same problems well and it seems like others do too. I agree dede - why do we have to listen to NOML twice but no High and Dry? ??

Maybe a hint here to help everyone - I've never listened to my CD through my player, I put it straight into my iTunes. I think that automatically equalises the sound because I haven't experienced any sound problems.

Shimmery - is the problem with your DVD maybe a problem with the player? Or a one-off thing? DVDs are funny fickle things and it might not have that problem in another player.
I, too, am unhappy that High and Dry wasn't included on the CD. I understand it probably had to be cut down for it to be permitted to chart, but the live NOML could have been left off in preference...

I couldnt lose any on the CD...but couldnt they just have added High and Dry?! It was wonderful! And With or Without You wouldnt have hurt either

Thanks kami, I will try my DVD in another player later to see if that helps!

Well my dvd plays fine. But yes I've noticed the problem with the sound especially on the Wicked Game track.

I got mine today and I didn't want to be picky but the quality is very cheap I played it through itunes and the sound goes up and done a lot. In Crying I thought they'd taken out some of the background noise but then at the end the clapping is extra loud. Some parts you can hear Damien say thankyou at the end very clear and others he sounds like he's down the bottom of a well. Does anyone else notice the huge amount of echo in all the live songs? Also when he goes for the high notes the sound seems to drop right down. Not just slightly, it's very noticable. Even the way the dvd is done is strange it just chops from one song to the next like someone did it at home. I suppose that's why it was only 20 bucks. The sound quality and picture on the vids is good though. I wonder why they put the recorded version of NOML and CTM when there both on the single? I think they should have left them off to encourage people to buy the single. Had my winge, sorry. But I think Grundy or Sony rushed it out cheap and there's no point taking it back because it sounds like they are all the same.

Maybe I'm not playing it loud enough, I'm not noticing all these things.... rushes off to do testing experiments....

Maybe you got a good copy. I'm listening to it again and the sound in Wicked Game is all over the place and at one point the crowd is louder than him. Now the guitar is louder than him and I can hear him saying thanks but he sounds miles away.

I'm using "Wicked Game" for my test case - the only time I can sense the volume shifting is on the first "fall in love with you" part, then it gets louder but apart from that it seems consistent. Maybe there was a bad batch that was sent out?
