Ok listening to it again to see if everyone is having the same probs with the same songs Nessun Dorma wasn't too bad til the end when he says thanks he's miles away again. Hallelujah is real bad too. One minute I can barely hear it then it nearly blows my ears out Too much echo and he nearly disapeared at the last long note, but the crowd was nice and clear MTMG has far far too much echo which distracts from the song and he isn't loud enough. When the crowd starts they are too loud and as the music gets louder Damien disapears more into the background. ITNC is fine, for now Creep heaps of echo and not loud enough. Too much base in some spots which distorts the music. UM seems fine but his last meeeeee sounds a bit off NMTF he seems quieter than UM and the high notes aren't as loud as the rest otherwise not too bad WOAA starts soft gets louder, bit of echo in it too but not real bad Sky not loud enough and heaps of echo getting louder but music destorts a bit. And the backup singers just became the main vocals for a sec. Another thankyou very much from down the road *come back Damien!!!* NOML sounds a bit up and down, music too loud at points *hehe think he just sang the wrong words* crowd comes in at the today today todaaaay and goes over the top of him, high notes softer than the rest again. Don't mean to be negative but I was looking forward to getting the album with the "digitally remasted tracks" and it's quite disapointing. I think the ones from behind idol sound better Now I should go to bed but I just drank coke

I've said it once and I'll say it again. They should have just got him to go into the studio and re-record all the songs again (it's not like they have to be re-written or anything). I'm sure Damien would not be happy at all if he knew the quality wasn't particularly parfait. This will just add to the kind of bagging that Idol attracts (yeah, that used to include me until I found Damo). Hmph.

Mine as well! At least he signed my cover! And the cover has a gorgeous pic of him in a leather jacket inside...the cover, the cover... I think the songs I downloaded were better quality than that cd. I burnt them to a cd and it's great - it's got everything except Fool, the NOML acoustic from Hamish and Andy, and the remixed NOML (heh). I was gonna make an extra disc with those songs plus the videos I got from You Tube! Then I can burn them on discs and put them in the pretty case!

I havent had any problems with either of my copies. I play the cd in my car, and it is fine. Also cant fault the dvd...Don't worry, they DID rush these two out pretty fast ( and I for one couldn't wait)...But unless I am completely wrong, there will be plenty more.....I'm just glad I've got these three.....

I hate how the backup vocals totally disappear in Wicked Game on the CD *sobs*

Wow, this is all a bit of a mystery - my CD is really good in the car, and it all sounds better than it ever did on tv - maybe there really was just a bad batch!

Mine is very echoey as well. I thought my ones I got each week of the net sound much better. It is a disappointment but beggars can't be choosers.

A question:
Is it really worth it to but this cd/dvd pack? Or should I just rip al of Viddy's audio to a cd. And try to get the forum made DVD of Damien on idol someone was planing on making. I'm not so sure. I need someone's opinion here please.

The DVD is worth it because they didn't have viddys of certain songs at behind idol and the quality at youtube is not always the best. The quality on the CD is definitely lacking, though. Everyone's comments are pretty accurate and it does seem to play better on certain systems than others. They just destroyed Wicked Game and Crying. You're better off burning your own CD, then you can add his accoustic version of NOML from Hamish and Andy and dede's discovery of Fool plus the other songs from his myspace site if you downloaded them while you still could.

It's worth it because at least the audio doesn't skip at one point in every song like it will on the media ripped directly from the TV. The CD audio isn't that bad - it's just that we've played our own mp3s too much and are really sensitive to the flaws. It's disappointing that the production seems to have been a bit rushed, but what can you do?
I personally still enjoyed the CD quite a lot, despite the irritating fading in and out at times - I'm obsessive about audio quality so that's a big thing! My plan is to rip the better quality audio from the DVD and make a CD of all of Damien's songs when I can be bothered.
On a non-quality note, the more sales Damien gets of this set, the quicker he can start earning money. The quality issues have nothing to do with Damien, so it hardly seems fair to withhold sales from him for that. The standard of the performances on the CD/DVD is excellent, as we all know! I don't think anyone would be making their own DVD to share with others now anyway - aside from the legal issues with an official release available, nobody would want to deprive Damien of sales.

The sound is dodgy on only 2 tracks on the CD. The DVD is first class, in every respect! Overall: the entire package is worth spending money on, and I too wouldn't deprive Damien of income because you're miffed about bad audio in a couple of places. It's a great appetiser for the main course coming next year - the big debut CD. ;D

Well I would recommend people buy it to support Damien but the quality is still very disapointing on the CD. The DVD is good quality and a lot of the vids aren't available and as someone else said youtube vids aren't as good so the DVD is worth it but I wonder what happened with the CD. Maybe there was a bad batch because mine is dodgy on more than 2 tracks. There's only about 2 tracks that sound any good and the rest are quite poor quality. I've tried it on all diff players too and it's still not good. I'm not just being picky, if it was only ok I'd just put up with it but it's really poor and they did promise it would be digitally remastered. True that's why I don't want to make a complaint to sony or anyone because if the media got hold of it it would reflect badly on Damien when it's not his fault Oh well looks like I'll just have to make my own copy with the behind idol audio and all the others.
