Did you see the size of that screw that they took out of Niko's hand? Damien is doing such a great job.

OK so the show is almost over. I handled the first part, the introduction to the kids. I can handle the preps for the surgerys and I can handle looking at the young kids while theyre still in bed. The surgeries are scareing me though. I can listen to the sounds, but even those are making me teary. I can do it though. I think.

I nearly fell off my chair during Grace's surgery. It really puts a new dimension when you see it like that. That's what the Indians (red American) used to do according to hubby Damien is fabulous as a narrator. His voice is so calm and clear. I am squeeeeeeeeeeing like mad here. Well done Damien. Fantastic job.

What a moving and confronting show. WOW! I was so shocked at poor little Grace's surgery. The poor darling really is smashed up. And Lewis and Billy....awwwww. I just find it so sad that any child has cancer. Such a terrible thing. Damien did a fantastic job. He really is a great narrator and his voice is so warm and kind. Well done Damien!!!

Wow - that was an incredible show. I found it very hard to watch the parts with the little boy who had leukemia though, since he reminds me so much of my baby nephew. It was amazing seeing Grace's surgery, how they just pulled her face back like that. They are so clever with things like that now! I thought I wasn't going to be able to watch the surgeries either, but knowing that they're helping these kids makes it possible for me to get through it, somehow. Damien is a very distracting narrator though - he had me at "life savin' surgery". My mother said the same thing about his voice being very clear, Braffy. And they had the 'pull my finger' promo near the end - I missed last time it was on.

I haven't watched it yet. I taped it though so I will watch it in about 10 minutes. I was talking to my friend on the phone and he said it was really good and the things they did were amazing. Gosh, I'd hate to be the boy with the screw in his hand. Hand injuries are so ...

His voice was beautiful and clear. He's a very good narrator AND presenter, and he looks fantastic in the suit! I got squirmish with the nail and Niko, and I was bordering tears (they were in my eyes) for Graces surgery. I couldn't watch it. The sounds were bad enough. Little Lewis and Billy have won my heart though, the little troopers. Ashley, on next weeks show, should be a good recovery, but not looking forward to the surgery.

to all involved. Weren't they all so great at their jobs? and the little kids are so trusting. I felt for all of the parents too but somehow I really felt for Grace's Dad. He hadn't left her side all that time and he was alone by the looks of it. It was good to see how healthy Grace is now and it made looking at the graphic operation easier to know she came out of it well. Damien's role was to host the show and he did a brilliant job because he didn't take over the show with his presence. He complemented it with his warmth and calmness. In times like those you need to feel that quietness and understanding - even as viewers.

Loved the show. Lewis is the most gorgeous and happy baby, I was close to tears watching him. It's so very sad. I was close to spewing when they erm...how would I put it? Pulled Grace' face down, that was so Her surgery was very confronting. Damien was fantastic. He's a great presenter.

OMG What a show. It was amazing. I'm like you Neski, could handle everything except the actual surgery's. Damien sounded so clear and did a fabulous job and well what can I say about the suit except HAWT

What a terrific first episode! Compelling, interesting stories, very cute kids, and one wonderful presenter/narrator! I hope little Grace is OK, and they can make her a new nose. Damien did fabulously: he's a natural TV performer, as we already knew. And the empathy for those children comes through in his narration/voiceovers. I hope Channel 10 got huge ratings for SAVING KIDS tonight, and the radio stations will start playing NJFTW.

Can't help but agree with everything that's been said. Damien looked and sounded mighty fine. He's a natural. ;D Grace's op was OMG! - how amazing are the doctors- and fashioning a nose out of a piece of rib! Little Lewis- 6 weeks in that room- it's almost incomprehensible- what the parents went thru. As D said when their backs are to the wall people rise to the occasion - inspiring stuff. Well done Damo

Congratulations Damien on the premiere episode of Saving Kids. As the narrator and host of the show your voice was a soothing contrast to what I was seeing on the screen. What I found most touching were the parents of Niko, Lewis, Billy and Grace. They are just so positive and this must surely convey to their respective kids. Phil, Grace's father was particularly touching. He's a farmer, a tough man of the land but you could see in his eyes and also in his demeanor that he was truly heartbroken and worried sick about Grace. When they wheeled her away to surgery I think it took Phil all of his strength to stop himself from breaking down. I had tears rolling down my face! Hearing Not Just For The Weekend in the background was also very soothing. It is a wonderful, uplifting song full of hope and I'm sure everyone involved with Saving Kids feels the same.
